This is the second book in A Brides with Style series. In this installment, Katie moved from a small town to Dallas. In the move she left her former boyfriend behind to move into the world of Brady, a basketball player who she has fell for. She stands by him through his knee surgery, however, her ex-boyfriend and her parents want her to move back to their small town.

I found it a little difficult to follow all of the characters, but this is probably because I did not read the first book. This is a book that brings smiles to the face easily and the author, Janice Thompson, knows how to involve the reader emotionally into the lives of the characters.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, once I began to connect to the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoy a light-hearted book.

This is a very refreshing book by an Irish author. Francesca, one day, realizes that her life is just common-place when she discovers her husband with another woman. All at once everything that she knows is turned upside down. She has two choices: give up or fight. So she fights. She decides to get a life of her own. Not her sons' mother, not her husband's wife. Before she can though she must deal with the reactions from her sons, her husband's girlfriend, her husband and his family.
This story has pleasant twists and turns throughout the book. This was my first Patricia Scanlan book but it definitely will not be the last!

This book presents a challenge to the reader. It goes back in time to talk about the history of healing and how illness first came to the planet. Throughout the book, Scripture is used to reinforce what is being taught to each one of us. After all, each of us has the power to heal. For such a small book, this book is packed with powerful teachings on healing.

Many don't believe they have this power because of the barriers that are there. This book also instructs the reader how to break through them.

What a powerful book. I want to thank Kynan Bridges, a senior pastor and an author, for allowing me to read this book.

If you are "For Better or Worse" fan, this is a wonderful book to read. It contains the comic strip from when Michael and Elizabeth were little. It is a fun book to enjoy and have a good laugh with.

Alison Weir is my favorite historical writer. She researches the topics so thoroughly that I feel like I have access to the facts on the topic.

In this book, the author is exploring Lady Margaret Douglas' life. Lady Margaret Douglas was of Tudor blood, yet few seem to know who she was. In her life she saw her parents divorce, was a lady-in-waiting for four of Henry VIII's wives and had a hand in arranging the marriage of her son, Lord Darnley to Mary, Queen of Scots. Through her intervention she was able to make sure a Stuart came to the throne through James VI, her grandson.

This fascinating retelling of the events of her life makes me wonder why she is not more well known. Alison Weir does a fantastic job in retelling the events in this woman's life. For those who enjoy reading history from the Tudor times, or those who enjoy history, I most highly recommend this book.

This book of devotions is an inspirational way to begin your day. Each entry begins with a topic heading to allow the reader to focus on what is to be presented. Next is the verse, the reading and a short prayer.

Each of the entries are excerpts from sermons given by A.W. Tozer. They also allow for a closeness to God that will stay with the reader throughout the day. I love beginning my day with these readings. So often they speak to my heart or they will provide guidance as I face things throughout the day.

The Salt CovenantsThis book, The Salt Covenants, by Sylvia Bambola had me feeling so many different emotions. It begins in Spain in 1493. Isabel was a girl who wanted to express her feelings and ideas in a time and place where this was not favorable. One of the things that she wished she could share was her conversion to Christianity. However due to many circumstances, including the Inquisition, she was married to her late-sisters betrothed and then had to sail to the New World on Christopher Columbus's second voyage.

The images and issues are beautiful and terrifying and Bambola was able to use words to express these to the reader so I felt like I was right there with Isabel.

This is a remarkable book by a talented author. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it.

I love the way Katherine Paterson writes. This book is made up of short stories about those who make discoveries about themselves and others; those who are discouraged then uplifted; those that discover love is always here.

I believe I will find myself reading this book a few times a year just to revive these beliefs in myself.

This would be a great book to give to loved ones or to share with those you love.
