I really enjoyed this book. What an adventure Elkan goes on. The book takes Elkan (and us) on a quick journey through history...from the beginning of time until...(I will leave that for you to find out!)
Journey through 7 seas of history!
I highly recommend it for youth, but it is also enjoyable as an adult.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It kept me on edge part of the time, wondering what was going to happen next. The characters are believable and likeable (well, the good guys are likeable). I am now into the second book of the series and looking forward to finishing them all.
Joel Rosenberg really knows how to weave a story. The only thing that would have been nice (which I do see in the reprint of the second book of the series) is a character list in the beginning. It makes it easier to remember who the characters are, especially when they have unfamiliar names from foreign languages and cultures.

I love this book. It is filled with little tidbits about an assortment of things Jewish. It ranges from jokes and humor to history to the rich and famous. The Jewish people are everywhere and everywhere they are they contribute a great deal to the society in which they live. Marnie Winston-Macauley introduces us to people, to culture and to Yiddish!
If she ever wrote a book 2, I would definitely want to read it!

I am really enjoying this book. Rabbi Donin gives the history of the prayers and shares some of the deeper meanings. It has been a great tool to have alongside my women's siddur and has really been helping to make my prayer time more meaningful.

I love this book. It really helped me with a more natural method of baking bread. Jessie really dug into the history of bread making and shares how it changed over the centuries. It is very informative and helpful. I highly recommend it.
