This is an outstanding introduction to ten different crafts, with worthwhile stitches and/or projects in each craft. I have many crochet books, and the crochet section of this book is a valuable addition to my collection.

It's my favorite of all of Laura's books. It's one of five of her books set in De Smet, SD, where I grew up! Five stars!!

This book includes an attractive variety of easy to make afghans. Most of the designs are classics. The variety of stitches used make it perfect for an intermediate level crocheter like me. I own several afghan crochet books - this one is my favorite!

Pros: This book may have some value for those who have done little retirement planning and do not already have a thrifty lifestyle. Also, the real life examples in the book are interesting.
Cons: The author is strongly in favor of expensive government programs. If you're under 75, beware, because I expect the gravy train will run out and the benefits won't be there for you when you need them!

I was shocked to see that this book received only two stars. I took Tai Chi class and needed a reference to help me when I practiced at home. I checked a number of books at the library. Tai Chi for Dummies was by far the best for providing clear instructions and matching the moves my instructor taught. I'd give this book five stars!
