a fun concept, but the author leaves a few things dangling (some supposedly scary incantation that shows up early, but I never saw again). And a few plot steps that are just silly. But fun, if you don't expect too much.
An interesting premise that Houdini's rabid exposing of false spiritualists was motivated by his secret exposure to TRULY supernatural things, and his outrage at people imitating or mocking them.

you have to be willing to wait for the mysterious, eerie blanks to be filled in, w/ Zelazny.

a nice installment of the series--just as good as all the others, maybe a bit better.

a light, fun read--good beach or plane reading.

The heroine is three dimensional, and the plot is good. The love story part felt sketchy and uninvolving. This was my first taste of the series, and I enjoyed it enough to make me interested in reading more.

a wedding planner investigates murders of other wedding planners.
a few of the supporting characters are annoying; one misstates cliches, and I think the author was sort of clever at working them in.
I don't think it's a particularly great book, but it's an easy read.
Some of the "what is a wedding planner's job like" stuff is really stereotyped and superficial.

Stephanie Plum doesn't trash any cars in this one (it's never the Jersey Girl bounty hunter's fault, those car problems)--she's trashing Ranger's merry men. This is another romp in the Stephanie Plum, semi-amateur bounty hunter, series. The danger is a little darker, a teeny bit less believable, in this installment, but it's great fun.
