When Alexandra Sheldon turned to meet Damon Barand's mesmerizing eye, she felt as if she'd waited her whole life for this man, for this moment - and he found her infinitely desirable, a goddess of fire and innocence. But was it the woman he noticed first or the impossibly beautiful and extravagant pearls that draped her sensual body, he wondered...while coveting both. He was a connoisseur of beauty, an elegant predator who exuded menacing power and a seductive promise that thrilled her. Damon was enigmatic, mysterious, the dark side of the moon beckining Alex into the black satin night of his soul, and she could deny him nothing. Drawn to her heat, challenged by the cool luster of the legendary necklace, Damon was overwhelmed by madness, desperate to command the ecstatic surrender of the only woman he'd ever needed. But when ghosts of the past shadowed his love, would he risk everything he had to save her?

She was a stand-up comic who refused to take insults lying down. But Cale Fowler sent Sandy Shaw reeling at their first explosive encounter outside his jazz lounge, next to the club where she performed. She'd honed her wit to a cutting edge--but it couldn't protect her from this arrogant, irresistible male who was determined to win the beautiful comedienne whose art he disdained. How could she resist a man who deflated her tires to give her a lift? She'd keep him laughing if it killed her, change his mind no matter what! After all, how could she trust his love if she couldn't win his respect?

Sir Kendran Ainsworth, youngest brother to the Baron of Brackenmoor, sets out to pay a debt to a furniture maker in Lundy for his sister-in-law, and falls prey to villains. Robbed, beaten, and left for dead at the side of the road, he is found by Annalise Stanhope and her faithful dog, Max. Annalise is the daughter of the very carpenter Kendran was to see. Seeing the man so helpless, kind hearted Annalise puts her own fears aside, and takes him home to her family to nurse back to health.
Upon his recovery, Annalise and Kendran begin to fight a mutual attraction, that neither one wants or can act on. For Annalise is all but betrothed to her child hood friend, Daniel, and Kendran must return to his life as a noble. He must keep his true identity a secret from Annalise and her family. He discovers their hatred for the nobility, a hatred that was born from the murder of Annalise's mother, and the cruelity of their liege lord, the evil Baron Kramon, the man Annalise suspects was responsible for her mother's death.
Kendran decides the best way to repay the kindness of the Stanhope family is not with money, but with getting to the bottom of the murder of Annalise's mother and villany befalling their town by the suspected man behind it, the evil Baron Kramon. This way Kendran would be killing two birds with one stone, for it is Kramon, that Kendran suspects was also behind his attack in the woods that left him for dead. So Kendran decides to portray a deception on Annalise and her family. He is a Knight as they believe him to be, but a poor one, not of the nobility. Autumn's Bride is the fourth and last book in the Season's Bride series by Catherine Archer. I did not read the first three, but found this story stood on it's own, and easily followed unlike with most series. The love story between Kendran and Annalise is sweet, and well written. Annalise is a strong determined woman, who isn't afraid to fight for right and justice, and to explore her budding sexuality. Kendran is a strong hero, but yet gentle in his growing fondness for Annalise and her family. His desire to stay and protect them; help them uncover who was behind all their troubles, makes Kendran not your typical powerful Knight.

Josh Campbell might not have been the man of her dreams, but he fit Heather Sinclair's fantasies just fine! When the brawny Yank, who looked as if he could wield a sword as powerfully as any clansman, stopped on a deserted road to give her a ride, she played a mischievous Scottish lass to the hilt, beguiling the moody but fascinating man whose gaze hid inner demons... and hinted at a dangerous passion she'd never known. Josh felt his depression lift after months of despair, but he was too cynical to succumb to this delectable minx's appeal... or was he? Seizing her lips with abandon, heady with triumph at her surrender, Josh was irresistibly drawn to Heather--but still doubted he could ever make her happy. She'd adored luring this modern-day Viking into her sensual web, but feared that enjoying being swept away meant losing her hard-won independence, that fate would stand between her and everlasting love. Were she and Josh finally ready to play for keeps?

Kelly would get her story and prove herself to her editor -- even if it meant using a bit of blackmail. She'd try anything to get dashing inventor-genius Nick O'Brien to take her along in his experimental balloon to Mexico. And though Nick saw through her ruse, he figured she'd provide a few distractions while they floated through the stratosphere... but even he never suspected the sparks their meeting would generate and the unexpected consequences of their fiery caresses. Nick had always trusted his fate to the four winds and the seven seas... until a feisty, golden-haired lady clipped his wings by losing herself in his arms.
