There is a lot of interesting information in this book, but there are several chapters that are no longer particularly useful as they discuss curriculum and laws circa 1988. It's a decent book, but you'll probably want other books on the topic as well.

Most baby signing books and videos use ASL. This book uses random signs made up by the author. I was not impressed.
