I have found this book to be invaluable in assisting me to pause in my daily life and take a thoughtful assessment of what (and WHY) I am doing certain things. It is very easy to read and has lots of examples from real life situations. Personally, I have ordered 4 copies to share with friends.
Criticisms would include that it heavily-favors mothers dealing with small children. As an unmarried woman, some of the scenarios didn't apply, but I can extrapolate and apply the practices to my situation.
Another critique is that it is premised on a familiarity with the New Testament Bible and Christ's teachings. This can be daunting for non-Christians, however, I assume that if one is reading this book, one can be openminded and take the lesson that is being offered without dealing with the religious issues in the examples.

This book is enjoyable however it is not as wonderful as Ms. Gabaldon's Outlander series from which she takes the title character Lord John. Do not expect to encounter any of the characters from her other books - this is a story which gives one insight into Lord John.

I've enjoyed the entire series. It does become a little far-fetched when it appears that Ayla discovers "all" the modern conveniences but it doesn't take anything away from the story or the wonderful writing style

This is one of the hundred books I'd choose to have if stranded on a desert island -- and comparable to Pearl Buck's The Good Earth but set in India instead of China...the story of a woman's life with all its ups and downs. Highly recommended and very easy to read.

I have not listened to any audio books, but this series is one of my all time favorites. I think it has everything - fantasy (time travel), science (medical and horticulture), history, war, romance, mystery, twists and turns of plot and some of the best characters I've ever come across. You come to want to know what happens to not only the main characters but also the supporting players. I have purchased this set (6 books in all - so far - there is rumor of a seventh!) in not only hardcover and 2 versions of paperback but given copies away to friends.

A touching spiritual book that will make you squirm at parts but will also make you think and stay with you...

A traditional romance/adventure novel. Good escapist reading for the beach, etc...
