I picked this up because it has been compared to Fifty Shades, which I loved! I was having Christian Grey withdrawals! LOL! I read this book pretty quickly and it really held my attention. Eva has a lot more fight in her than passive Ana which I respected because she reacted more like I would have. Gideon is really emotional in a romantic way that made my heartache at times. I will say that there was a lot of unnecessary dirty talk but overall it was pretty hot! Though it was similar to Fifty, it had many differences too, no real "kinky f***ery". I recommend this book! I can't wait for the sequel!

Entertaining and funny though I would have liked a little more story development, it just seemed to be missing something that would have pushed it over the top. There were a lot of good moments especially when Bennett and Chloe fought with each other. Matched perfectly! Very steamy between them too which is always a plus!

I'm going to review this book in two parts. The first part for those who have not read it and the second will be for those who have. Beware!

The book kept my attention early on so I read it pretty quickly. The story started out with a good build up, so you understood the attraction. I found myself laughing a lot at some of situations because either they were really funny or so ridiculous it was comical. I also talked out loud a lot too! Haha! I'm giving it four stars because it was a decent entertaining love story, not perfect, but worth the read, in my opinion. The only reason I won't give it five stars is because there are issues with the overall story line that nag at me a little...

*NOTE*
I read this book because of a loud review from a girl on another site who was so passionately against the book's message and how it could influence young girls. Yes, I agree, get out as soon red flags are raised in a relationship, whatever those may be for the individual. In real life a story like this might not turn out so well so be careful!

**SPOILER ALERTS from this point on**

With that being said, let's look at the book for what it was. So Travis is an alpha male with anger and jealousy issues... not a big surprise to many fans of the intense romance genre. He wasn't violent towards her or mean that's what the fight club was for :) He knows he has issues that need to be work on and she told him that as well. I did feel that Abby had the common sense of a rock most of the time, which is ironic because she was supposed to be this super streetwise gambling girl. She didn't ask Travis why he insisted on calling her "Pigeon" for a long time. I would have asked right away, I mean that's not exactly a cute and cuddly nickname. Pidge was even worse, Eew! Plus I don't think SHE brought it up, someone else did. It was also irritating that she took so long to realize or accept Travis's feelings for her. He even said something like "How come everyone else can see it except for you?" She continued to play the clueless role for a while with this whole "He's everything I don't need but I never back down from a bet" point she was trying to prove and tormenting him by sleeping in his bed as platonic friends for a whole month. ( I know, he insisted on her sleeping there but still) Travis fell for her HARD and had a lot of co-dependency issues for sure. At one point I felt like shooting this poor guy to put him out of his misery, she tortured him pretty bad through out the book. I just stopped seeing her purpose for putting him through that. I felt she made a bigger deal than necessary out of the mob boss situation. He got her point and apologized for it- a million times! He begged her take him back- a millions times, then she had the nerve to be hurt when he walked in the apartment with that girl Megan one night? He even asked her then "Do you want me or not?" She still chose "not". Frustrating!! OK, the two girl situation before their relationship had officially begun was totally gross and uncalled for on his part, but she still kept living there?? Yet the mob boss offer is what she chose to leave him over?? Ugh! Overall, I didn't feel that she was as in to him as he was to her. It all felt kind of forced on her part. He felt super insecure even at the end and I don't blame him. She did this complete 180 without a real explanation to him as to why she wanted to be with him and what changed her mind. It was just like "OK, I give up, we're back together now." Usually at the end of a love story, I take away a feeling that this relationship will last and that they were meant to be together. I didn't feel that way about this one. I think the future for them looks shaky. The title is definitely fitting and just about sums everything up!

To sum things up, Nick and Bess's whole future could have been different if they would have confessed out loud how they really felt about each other from the start. This book had it's ups and downs for me but overall I enjoyed it. I wish that Nick was a little more loving and that Bess was a little more decisive. She was all over the place in what she wanted and Nick was a little cruel at times. The story wasn't that satisfying in the end and I wanted more to be said between them.

I really liked this book. The story was very believable, and the characters were well developed. I actually liked the main girl character for a change. I didn't give it 5 stars only because it was a little too subtle in the declarations of love department. Call me crazy but I need the heart racing, make you want to puke kind of love confessions even if it's only said at the very end. It's sort of like the cherry on top! For now my sundae is incomplete, however the story was still very yummy!

Love this book! My 7 year old reads it all the time! I often have to look for the book in his room! It really helps me make decisions on the right foods. My son enjoys finding foods that he likes on the eat this side and is bummed when some of his favorite items are on the not that list. I also have this same book for kids foods, too!

ONE OF MY NEW ALL TIME FAVORITES!! It's been a while since I cried that hard over a novel! It was passionate, goofy, heartbreaking and inspiring! It had all of the perfect elements of a true love story. (sigh) Andrew Parrish has officially made my very exclusive list of guys that I am in love with (not an easy list to make)! How could you not fall for him? The idea of buying a bus ticket never seemed so romantic! I really liked Camryn, too! She made my list of girls who rock (also difficult to do). She took risks that I don't think that I would have, she really stepped out of her comfort zone which I admired. I've been listening to The Civil Wars for the past few days and I can't help but think of this book! Poison & Wine just does something to me! Loved, Loved, Loved it! J.A. Redmerski, you are definitely on my radar, I see you now! Well done!

So I finished the second book in the series, Effortless, a few days ago and I must say that I am really glad that I read it. At first I didn't think a sequel was necessary but it turns out it was. There is true closure which made me feel much better for the characters. There were lots of lessons learned and important transformations. I was truly happy for everyone at the end. It was perfect! I can't wait for the 3rd book! This time I think another book is very necessary, I can't get enough Kellan! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!

Wow! It was worth that wait! Gideon was on fire! Smokin' hot! I didn't realize how much I missed him but I was reminded...frequently! A lot of interesting developments and an equal amount of still unanswered questions! I'm looking forward to more! I just hope the wait isn't so long this time!

4.5 stars! Oh man! That was great! I loved it. Blaire rocks! I could totally identify with her. She seemed very realistic to me and acted in ways that I would have if I were in her situation. I thought Rush was super sexy even though he made a selfish choice and had no idea of the consequences. Can I forgive him? Absolutely! The situation should have never involved him to begin with! Am I moving on to book 2? Hell Yes, right now!

Wow, I really enjoyed this twisted story. There are clearly some issues here that need to be addressed! It was a little slow in the beginning but hang in there because things really start rolling at a downhill pace! All of the set up in the beginning is necessary and must be remembered as things unfold. Some of the details were a little difficult for me to buy but who cares just go with it! Great book!

After reading Slammed and Point of Retreat and absolutely loving them I had very high expectations for Hopeless. I was not disappointed! Colleen Hoover is an amazing author! Anything she writes from now on is an automatic read for me! She has a gift for creating characters with real depth. She gets you to connect with them on such an emotional level that you really feel for them and their situations. Colleen is also awesome at taking a really painful subject and treating it with such respect and dignity. One million stars!!!!!

4.5 stars! It wasn't what I was expecting and I'm so glad. People have been comparing it to the Captive in the Dark series and On Every Street. Eh, maybe there are bits that will remind you of those books but this is a different story entirely. It almost has a True Lies sort of vibe without the comedy. J.A. Redmerski has set up an outline for a kickass series. This book is only a taste of Victor and Sarai's world and I expect the next book to explode! Sarai is going to rock if J.A. is taking her into the direction I want her too! The only reason it's not a full 5 star is because I wanted more and I felt it ended just as things were getting good!

5 stars on fire! Wow! I loved this story. I can't believe I waited so long to read this! It made my heartache, beat fast then stop all in random order! I could feel the longing and electricity between them. Pantymelting I tell you! I even got a little choked up at the end. *sigh* Just what I needed! Wow wow wow!!

I really enjoyed this series. I also liked this book but not as much as some of the others. It allows you to really get to know Butch a little better. In the first 3 books he was just a guy hanging around the brothers trying to fit in. I found that once I learned more about him, I really did like him.

I'm really liking the series the more I read them. I started with Book 4 not knowing that I was in the middle so there were certain things that the authors assumes you know about by now so I got kind of lost. J.R. Ward really takes it there in regards to topics of sexuality, and cruelty like I have never read. She kept me interested. I still cringe sometimes at the dialect. There is too much unrealistic slang, and from very different social crowds. Really unnecessary at some points and maybe not age appropriate for centuries old vampires. It's almost like she is trying to fit every "cool" word in to a conversation or should I say "convo". HA! These books are really fun. Enjoy!
