Entertaining, with the usual number of laughs, throughout the sleuthing saga.

Bobbie Ann Mason comes through with a protagonist who follows in his father's path in a livelihood at the local arms plant. The company has poisoned the environment with nuclear chemicals for decades. Reed spends most of the time thinking of the effects, caring for his stroke-handicapped mother, and courting Julia. A subtext on vocation choices of Reed and alternative of Julia carries the narrative forward. An appealing read.

Creative and entertaining, this is a dialogue among four people which begins with each contemplating suicide. We follow this "gang" for months, as they interact and build relationships. An unusual read -- and a worthy experience.
