After reading this Picoult novel I was emotionally drained. I work with special needs across the spectrum and she was able to put me right there with all her characters. I figured the plot early on, but the chapter views kept my interest. I'm sure it's due to my job but I found this book her most thought provoking in quite some time.

My all time favorite from Michael Connelly. Fast paced lawyer holds office in Lincoln Town Car - gets the job done, keeps the story moving in a way like no other author has before. Fabulous character, ingenious technique and a storyline that held together and kept the intrigue going so well I could not wait to finish, let alone wait to read the next Mickey Haller book. Grab it now and read tonight!

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS HIS FIRST PUBLISHED WORK -- A more undeveloped piece of work; a much less mature style of writing than what we are used to from him today. Still a master from the literary world.

Sofie was struggling both emotionally and professionally in this installment of the series. Definately more substance in her character, more of Jake, more of Dino, and I seem to remember Efi a bit younger in the last book? Whatever the case may be this was a better written book for the characters, but I saw the 'who dunnit' a mile away.....
