She's pregnant and she's his brother's wife to be. She met Jesse Winslow at a cattle show. They had a brief affair and now Abby is pregnant. Jesse is a rancher and offers to marry her and Abby accepts. She leaves her home to join Jesse at the ranch he owns with his brother Noah.
While Jesse might have good intentions and lots of charm, responsibility isn't his strongest trait. That's always been Noah's department.

Morgan rushed to his next case and discovered the woman he'd missed for the past four years lying injured with a child in tow.
As Morgan stood by her bed with Tomas in his arms, Katrina felt her dream of adopting Tomas with Morgan and reviving their marriage evaporate. Morgan had always opposed adoption; she'd known her only hope this time was to persuade him gently, slowly. Little chance of that now-unless little Tomas had worked his charms on Morgan too...

This is the first Brian Keene book I have ever read and now I am hooked. If you like this type of book ( zombies) you'll love this one. I literally could not put this down once I started to read it. Just be warned as soon as you're done with this one you will want to read the follow up book City of the Dead right away!

If you liked Red Dragon you'll love this one. What is on the back of the book follows:
Terry Naughton has come up against his share of heinous criminals in his years on the force-but nothing has prepared him for the Horridus, the brilliant madman who is terrorizing the children of Orange County.
As he races to stop the Horridus before his crimes escalate, Naughton learns that the Horridus may not be the only enemy. When shocking accusations put his career on the line, he is forced to confront his own dark and violent past in search for the truth. Who is behind this setup? And even if he can clear his name, can he do the same for his conscience?
