This is a spell binding tale of ancient Japan layered in fantasy. Hanunting and hard to put down. It is the first book in a trilogy, with amazing sword fights, a quest, twisted court politics and romance.

Greenlaw survived the "perfect storm" and then wrote three bestsellers about her adventures in fishing. These are great"yarns" interspersed with "bar snacks," which are fun lists of sea trivia like remedies for sea sickness, fibs and exaggerations from crew members, and the like. The perfect book for all sailors.

Kerstan is an intelligent writer capable of elegant phrasing that rises above the genre's often turgid (and tumescent) prose. These are delightful regency romances written early in Ms. Kerstan's career and the love scenes are not as explicit as has become the style. These two stories are more akin to Harlequins best light fare than to the authers current darker novels, which I also highly recommend.

It is always a treat to read one of Nancy Martin's mysteries. Even more of a pleasure when a series gets better and better over time, as do Ms. Martin's novels.
In this installment, Nora once again tries to hold the center together as her fabulously wacky sisters and her maybe-mobster boyfriend complicate her life. The murder--creepily realistic to anyone who reads the magazine Vanity Fair where the real-life strangeness of societies foibles can read like fiction--serves to illuminate the main players.
Nick and Nora, and their family and friends change, grow, and sometimes digress with each new novel in the series. In this new adventure, Nora and Mick are clear that they love each other profoundly--and continue to discover of how far apart their personal codes of ethics may take them over time.
It is a tribute to the author that she manages to make Nora and Mick's relationship so complicated and intense, keeping the overall tone of the book teetering between comedy and pathos while serving up an entertainingly surreal mystery. Big feathered and tulle wrapped hats off to Ms. Martin. Can't wait to read number seven.

Lynn Kerstan's stories are a cut above the usual romance. Great back stories with interesting complicated hero's and independant minded heroines. If you like your romance on the dark side, Kerstan is the author for you.

Jo Beverly is an excellent writer. This is a reissue of an earlier work from 1993 when she was writing Midievil rather than regency romance. As always, an entertaining story of passion and adventure.

This is probably the best book about parenting a teenager ever written. Parents, do not enter the teen years without it! Reading this book will help you weather your child's behavior with humor. Pick it up and have more hair on your head than in your hands by the time you wave them off to college.

The writer successfully creates an alternative renaissance world in a universe very like our own. This is a great tail of love and revenge revolving around bizantine politics and intregue. The heroine is pure of heart but experiences pain as pleasure, making her the perfect spy among the wealthy elite who have a taste for rough games, while complicating her relationship with the man she loves.

A very creepy Vampire story told between the present and Victorian past. Takes place in London. This isn't a romance. It fits more easily into the horror genre. The novel essentially reimagines the original Dracula story. Very eerie.
