Such a good book! A lady on a plane told me about it and I am so happy that she did! The book is about a 38 y.o. Widow with two young sons (kindergarten and third grade) who moves from her London home to a sleepy seaside village where her Gran lives. The book is about new beginnings, old friends and everyday problems that we all face. One of the best books that I have read in a long time.

Written by Governor Gavin Newsom of California who is severely dyslexic. A story about a young boy having trouble reading, but he is really good at baseball. His friend, Emma, is a good reader but sucks at baseball. A very good childrens book and especially so for dyslexic children or those simply having difficulty learning to read.

Really enjoyable, action-packed read. Takes place in Idaho and you can just picture the scenes in your imagination. Plan to read more of his books.

First book read by this author and I have fallen in love with her writing and trying to get my hands on everything that she has written!
Jill's best friend, Monica, who lives on the ocean in Pawley's
Island, South Carolina is dying and when she passes, she has willed
Her home to Jill but n exchange, Jill must complete a bucket list.
Some items are easy and others are adventurous, of which Jill is not.
A great read!

Loved, loved, the book! Read "Crazy Rich Asians" and saw the movie and loved both. I really liked that the second book took right off from the first. Having several Asian friends and former co-workers, the characters and settings really came to life. I finished reading the book on a plane and was chuckling about the wealthy Asian ladies who made food in n their lavish hotel room and were in seventh heaven with the hotel shampoos and soap! A thoroughly entertaining read. Also, loved the different settings in California, Hong Kong, Paris, etc. can definitely visualize and can't wait to see this movie.

Inspiring story about a young girl (15) being raised by her aunt as her mother abandoned her to the sister. The aunt is a chef and Hope (who was named Tulip by her mother but disliked the name) waitresses and goes to school. Due to a variety of reasons, they move around. They finally land in a small town in Wisconsin and their lives finally are on a good path. This is a YA novel but I am way over that age and really enjoyed the book.

Helpful Score: 1
What a wonderful read. About Houdini, magicians, the early 1900's. A mystery, a history of New York and the early times with immigrant settlement. Written like someone talking to you telling a story. Although YA could read, it does have some content regarding LGBT which maybe too early to be shared with a younger, good reader. Avery enjoyable book and I plan to read many more of Rhys Bowen's books.

This is one of the best books that I have ever read. Loved the cover of the book and things just kept getting better as I opened the book. I could smell the beach and the ocean with Dina Silver's descriptive writing. An unusual story and I loved it!
