Sorry. The single word was written on a mirror. In front of it hung the Minneapolis Internal Affairs cop. Was it suicide? Or a kinky act turned tragic?
Either way, it wasn't nurder. At least not according to the powers that be. But veteran homicide dectective Sam Kovac and his wisecracking, ambitious partner Nikki Liska think differently. Together they begin to dig at the too-neat edges of the young cop's death, uncovering one motive and one suspect after another. The shadows of suspicion fall not only on the city's elite, but into the very heart of the police department. Someone wants the case closed-quickly and forever. But neither Kovac nor Liska will give up. Now both their careers and their lives are on the line. From a murder case two months old to another case closed for twenty years, Kovac and Liska must unearth a connection the killer wants dead and buried. A killer who will stop at absolutely nothing to keep a dark and shattering secret..

Daughter of a legendary Virginia hunt master and aristocrat, Julia Warwick grew up in a world where Thoroughbreds and fox hunting are passions, not pastimes. Julia found her own passion in Christian Carver, a talented young horse trainer. But when a beautiful heiress is murdered and Christian is convicted of the crime, a pregnant, desperate Julia marries a friend who offers solace. Very good

When the historic Hopkings ferry was raised from the bottom of the lake, who would have thought they were literally raising the dead! But there it was-a skeleton- right before their eyes. Unfortunately, the evidence is slim and soggy: The boat sank in 1949, the victim on board was a woman, and near the body is a piece of unidentifiable lacelike fabric. Sounds like a fob for Betsy Devonshire. Betsy know there's more to this story than what's on the surface. And once she and patrons of her needlecraft shop start lending a hand, they're sure to stitch together the details of this unnerving mystery.

Expertly juggling storylines, she investigates the sexual, social, psychological, and spiritual problems of wealthy owners, working-class bettors, trainers on the edge of financial ruin and in a typically bold move, horses.

The mostly married, mostly middle-aged members of the Mostly Methodist Club were used to swapping recipes, not stock tips. They'd taken few risks in their lives, and had even fewer adventures. But when a pink-haired young rebel named Skye found her way into the group, things changed. The ladies had already begun looking into investment opportunities, after realizing that their retirement earnings would barely keep thin in Burpee seeds and bakin powder. But it was Skye who tipped them off to a struggling new company that might be worth sinking a few dollars into. A company that was developing some interesting new technology. A company run by a man named Bill Gates.. enjoyable read

A vividly imagined love story between a woman and a monk, a woman and her husband, and ultimately a woman and her own soul. Good, made me think about where I am as wife, mother and person.

At the age of 23, James Frey woke up on a plane to find his four front teeth knocked out, his nose broken, and a hole throughhis cheek. He had no idea where the plane was headed nor any recollection of the past two weeks. An alcoholic for ten years and a crack addick for three, he checked into a treatment facility shortly after landing. There he was told he could either stop using or die before he reached age 24. This is Frey's acclaimed account of his six weeks in rehab. Interesting

Suddenly, the present collides with the past, as she finds clues into the identities of Connie's attackers.
