The exciting, page-turning LAST episode of Kelley Armstrong's acclaimed, bestselling Women of the Otherworld series!
Savannah Levine, a young witch of remarkable power and a dangerous pedigree, staggers away from a bomb blast in New Orleans, glad that she's managed to rescue her half-brother Bryce from the supernatural revolutionaries who'd held him captive. But everyone and everything she holds dear is still at risk. The reveal movement has shaken the Otherworld to its core and the resulting chaos has thinned the boundaries between dimensions, allowing creatures of the deeper realms to break through and wreak havoc on supernaturals but also on innocent humans.
Although she's been temporarily stripped her of her powers, Savannah knows she has a crucial part to play in this war of survival. In fact the fate of her loved ones--of Adam, the friend she hopes will become a lover; of Paige and Lucas, her guardians; of the werewolf Pack and Jaime Vegas; of a pregnant Hope; of her brothers Sean and Bryce--and of the human world rests on her shoulders. If she can find the way and the will to defend them.
Only in the final battle will Savannah find out her true capacities, and what lovewill drive her to do. In 13, Kelley Armstrong brings her powerful and unique saga to a deeply satisfying end: thrilling, surprising and harrowing.

The Wheeler house was good, modern and commonplace. Walter Wheeler and his wife were like the house. Just as here and there among the furniture there was a fine thing, an antique highboy, a Sheraton sideboard or some old cut glass, so they had, with a certain mediocrity their own outstanding virtues. They liked music, believed in the home as the unit of the nation, put happiness before undue ambition, and had devoted their lives to their children. For many years their lives had centered about the children. For years they had held anxious conclave about whooping cough, about small early disobediences, later about Sunday tennis. They stood united to protect the children against disease, trouble and eternity.

This study of the many manifestations of the vampire myth from Beowulf to Buffy explores what it has signified for every culture in which it is found. A large section is devoted to the "Real Vampires" flourishing largely in the US, but also present in the UK, Australia and on the Internet. The author finds the members of this secretive subculture, who feed on each other's blood to be a fascinating intersection between fantasy and reality. He also regards them as harmless and asks whether it's actually possible to be subversive in our postmodern society. He argues that the vampire myth has so saturated our culture as to be tamed by entering the fabric of everyday life - and there, being reborn.

The report was correct as far as it went. There was no intelligent life on the planet. No one thought to look up...
The Light Dancers... From the dawn of time they sailed the cloudplains of Selmarri, soaring on wings of light, until they discovered immortality - and traded their wings for eternity in a crystal universe the size of a transistor. Aeons later, when the bloodblossom plague threatens to reduce humankind's life-span to nine Earth-years, the "empty planet" Selmarri is chosen as quarantine for the galaxy: and the exile Verron and the Light Dancer Aleida respeak the sun-leaping cloudcry in their pursuit of life's most ancient dream.

Like a pagan god, Rolfe the Relentless rode into Castle Aelfgar to claim it as his prize--and Lady Alice as his bride. Lauded for his bravery in France, in England he was the hated enemy. Once ensconced in his new domain, Rolfe became determined to tame the Saxon beauty Ceidre, Alice's illegitimate sister, whose spirit and sensuality make him risk treason to have her--not Lady Alice--in his bed...
Mysterious and seductive, she was no lady but a spy for the rebel cause of her noble half brothers. Refusing to bow to this arrogant warrior who ignited her forbidden passion, Ceidre was swept into a dangerous liaison tied to the fate of England and kings. Yet with his kisses on her lips, his skillful hands on her body, she would have to struggle not to surrender to... The Conqueror.

I was so surprised when I got this. The book is set up in the tradition Japanese right to left Manga format. In other words it is backwards to how we read. The one thing I didn't like is the cover is shown all in color, but the book drawings are all in black and white.
This book is just Kyrian and Amanda's story drawn up in a comic book. I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars as I had different pictures in my mind of what the characters would look like than in this book. I guess I would rather read the story than watch it drawn out.

When Marcus O'Neill came into Laurel's Long Island bookshop, she had no idea of the new road he would open for her. Only when Marcus picked up a copy of her father's latest novel did premonition strike her.
Clifton York had left her mother when Laurel was a small child, and she had never heard from him since. She had pretended she didn't care, but fed her own secret anger by reading his books, following his career, keeping old pain alive.
When Marcus explained that her father was his friend, that Cliff York had an urgent need for his eldest daughter, and that there might not be much time left for him, Laurel was forced to a decision.
The trip down the Florida Keys set the stage for all that awaited her in Key West's Old Town-intrigue that involved sunken treasure, modern piracy, and a burgeoning new love. She must deal not only with two surprising half sisters, still tied the glamorous mother who had died mysteriously a year before, but also with the strange and evil orchids that were to threaten Laurel and her new love, and eventually lead to nightmare.
