I own this book (by ISBN) written in English. Morbihan is located in Brittany. The book has beautiful pictures, and the towns and castles are listed alphabetically with a short description of each given. It is the basic tourist guide/memento which is published by Ouest-France for many of the towns and other locations in France. I own several of these books, some I bought in France, and others, like this one, I found in a thrift shop.

In 1917, R. Bruce Horsfall, a nationally recognized naturalist and bird artist with ties to the Oregon Audubon Society, painted a magnificent series of 33 water colors depicting Western Bluebirds. These dramatic and charming works of art, along with the story text by his wife, Carra E. Horsfall, and the original pen and ink drawings have lain forgotten for more than a half century. In the course of a recent cleaaning at Portland's Audubon House, the drawings, text and paintings came to light.

This pocket sized book can be helpful to cyclists (and others) while visiting the Loire Valley. It would have been better with an Index and adding landmarks (such as the gorgeous castles) to the maps. I was interested in the Chateau d'Usse, but it took me a long time using internet searches and maps to finally find it in this book. I'd recommend taking along more detailed maps, and the author does recommend others. He points out that maps for motorists do not meet the needs of cyclists, but the maps in the book do not give any clues about sights to see along the way. His commentaries are brief beyond belief, but the book is light enough to take along with you.

When Thomas Jefferson took office as the third President of the United States in 1801, much of the land between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Ocean was unknown territory belonging to France or Spain. By the time Rutherford B. Hayes left office as the 19th President in 1881, this land was not only part of the United States, but it had been explored, surveyed, mapped, photographed, and was rapidly being settled. Exploring the American West, 1803-1879, is the story of how and why all of this came about.

This is one of the few books for adults which the author has written. She survived a severe case of polio as a child before marrying her high school sweetheart and adopting two children. Her story is about how she developed her skills as a writer, and discovering she did best with writing children's books, for which she earned several awards. I recommend it for everyone who is interested in becoming a writer, and for those who just love to read.

This is a guide to the life and times behind the Christmas story, an invitation to a new experience for celebrating the birth of Christ. What was the first Christmas really like? How did Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem? What do we know about the birth of Jesus? Where did Joseph and Mary and Jesus live in Egypt? And what was life like for the boy Jesus in his hometown Nazareth? The unique illustrations are reproduced from 19th century engravings and drawings by pilgrims to the Holy Land.

The pages are not blank. There are 100 pages with 4 boxes with these labels: Purpose of Spell; How to Cast; Supplies Needed and Inspiration for the Spell. The last 4 pages are underlined, otherwise blank. I'm not into spell casting, but wanted a blank notebook and I liked this cover. Perhaps I should have purchased a blank notebook from the Dollar store and decorated its cover! And then I can write instructions on topics of my own choosing.

The kitchen has always been the center of the home. The Goddess Vesta was the goddess of the hearth. While we don't cook on hearths today, we do have kitchens where we practice our spiritual concepts, since the food that we cook, and the herbs and aromatics we use to change the consciusness are prepared here--whether we use a stove or a fireplace. This is a book about how to permeate your home with your work, and will appeal to people interested in wicca, shamanism, neo-paganism, or those who practice any religion that deals with developing inner strength, love, and healing. Janet Thompson discusses medicinal and magical herbs, spells, incense, tokens, amulets, working with color, aromatherapy, crystals, purification, baths, ritual, moon phases, the pathwork to the crone, the witches wheel (the festivals), and recipes. She provides practical insights for people who are just starting to live the pagan way!
