This is a very nice book for teachers to use. It includes a lot of information on bats and it also offers lots of ideas for activities, games & crafts. Merlin D. Tuttle, Ph.D., Director, of Bat conservation International, Inc. says "I have reviewed many children's books on bats and consider this to be, by far, the best of its kind."

This is a very fun book to look through, just looking at the photos of the landscapes created with food. But if you really want to get into the book you can read the descriptions of how each image is put together and what foods are used. Very interesting book.

This is a great book to use to help your children learn their colors. It is a very colorful book. The illustrations are two-page spreads, painted in a fun colorful style like the cover illustration.

Grade 2-4 Hurwitz has created a third-grade classroom full of lively, true-to-life individuals, but Lucas Cott is the real star. A boy full of enthusiasm and an overabundance of energy, never deliberately misbehaving but always wanting attention, he tries the patience of everyone with whom he interacts. Once again Hurwitz exhibits her talent for creating characters who talk, act, and think just like real kids. Adults are also given three-dimensional treatment, from Lucas' often exasperated teacher, whose patience with him wears thin but never out, to his mother, loving yet harried because of Lucas and her twin toddlers. There are some very funny moments here, as well as some gentle and touching ones. An episode in which Lucas' decision to bring a bagful of fall leaves rather than the one or two his teacher has assigned backfires will make a perfect read-aloud chapter. Reading Level is 4th - 8th grade (not ages 4-8). This is a very attractive and well written book, with just enough photos and illustrations to add to the interest. The book uses fluent and engaging language, historical anecdotes, excerts from primary sources, and unfamiliar information, all of which help to maintain inteest. This book is well-researched and very readable with lots of facinating details. Kirkus

Large size text makes it easier for children. This book is exceptional nonfiction for children by two of the most trusted names in science education: Seymour Simon and the Smithsonian Institution.

I agree with the reviewers who are keeping the book to read again. I agree that some of the writing was kind of repetitive. But, overall, I found the content to be very interesting, and I feel that Jonathan Cahn did a good job of backing up what he was saying by documenting where he got his facts. It would be a challenge to write this type of book in which fact is presented as a fiction story. He wrote it this way to make it easier for the general population to read and absorb. I found the book to be very interesting and did enjoy it. The book was an eye opener for me, in regards to some of the events that have happened regarding various details of 9-11, and its aftermath.

This is a very good book to read or give someone who had lost someone dear to them. It has lots of scripture verses from the Bible and some poems. It is a small size and an easy book to read. It can be picked up and opened to any page to read just a short section at a time.

This is quick and easy to read book that is helpful for someone that is dealing with loss or grief. I enjoyed it because of the help I received from it and it is humorous in places. Babara Johnson is great at finding humor in the most difficult situations.

I am a grandmother now, but I have been an elementary school librarian and a homeschool mother. I recently enjoyed listening to this book very much. It gave me a feel and understanding of the 14th century England (which I was not familiar with). I also learned about the midwife's craft and the daily life in this time period, such as needing to take grain to the mill to be ground into flour, and the need to gather your own herbs. I really came to understand the feelings of the young girl who was homeless and hungry and with no parent. This would be a great addition to a homeschool unit on the Middle Ages.

In the tradition of the Narnia Chronicles, "No Clock in the Forest" is one of the best-written novel in the English language. Set in a vividly-depicted Pacific Northwest, William, followed by Lance and Gwen, become lost on hikes in the mountains and find the wilderness about them strangely changed, wilder, and full of unsuspected magic. The Muses dwell here, as do the fair folk and talking marmots. An ancient struggle between good and evil is coming to a head.
Prof. Willis paints with his prose and wields historical and Arthurian allusions with a deftness not seen since Milton. The adult reader will enjoy insights that may be over-looked by the juvenile, who will nonetheless love this book.
This novel truly is one of my all-time favorites. I even keep it on the same shelf as my Tolkien collection. I have had the pleasure of sharing this new classic with friends who have in turn fallen in love with it.

This book is about making patchwork quilts, and the techniques used to do this. The chapters include traditions and history, fabric and cutting, piecing the quilt top, tufting and tying, 16 traditional quilts and patterns, care of quilts and other uses. The beginning section is only in black and white, but the last section has 15 quilts in color with patterns on graph paper.

This is a beautiful paperback textbook for Christian schools or homeschoolers. It is filled with colorful graphics and pictures and is inviting and very readable for 2nd graders. It has lots of pictures. There are some on almost every page.

This is a small size book which is the type that you read a couple of pages a day. It is layed out so that the left hand page has a scripture verse on it and the right hand page contains some comment or exapmple from Beth Moore. The printing is a nice size that is easy to read.

I found this book to be very interesting and well written. I found it interesting to learn more about the Salem Witch Trials and that time period in the history of our country. There was suspense, and mystery that kept me interested in the book

This is a wonderful book to introduce your children ages 7 - 12 to Powerful Christian women who changes their world. I learned about Isobel Kuhn, Eliz. Fry, Amy Carmichael, Gladys Aylward, Mary Slessor, Catherine Booth, Jackie Pullinger, Evelyn Brand, Joni eareckson Tada, and Corrie ten Boom, many of whom were missionaries. There is a short story about each of these women in this book. Have your daughters read this book and these stories of real people will inspire her to liver her life for God.
