A perfect example of an "enjoyable read", this book keeps you entertained throughout. A bit of magic, a bit of fantasy, and a bit of humor all come together in this clever take on life...and an ornery boy.

A very well written "what if" book that left me wondering if it was indeed a story, or a prophesy! The characters are believable, the story quick moving, the implications terrifying...I thorough enjoyed this book, but I won't ruin any of it by telling you the story. But it's a book I do recommend to anyone with an interest in "future shock" stories. But I'll also worry about the decline in bat and toad populations....

I'm finding it rather hard to get through this book, it's very slow moving, and...well, boring. It seems like it was a great short story that someone told the author to turn into a novel. Great premise, great background idea...but it seems to get lost in a lot of drivel that doesn't advance the story line. Sorry, but this isn't one I'd recommend.
