After reading "Eat, Pray, Love," I vowed never to read another Elizabeth Gilbert book. But my book group chose this, and I stalled, but I read it. It was a fun, quick read, and I enjoyed it. There are some spots where I laughed out loud at the main character's snarky dialogue. The book is a pretty vivid picture of life on this tiny island off the coast of Maine, and a lot of the characters are well-developed enough for me to wish I could read more about them.
So, I guess my bottom line is: Don't judge a novel by its author's memoir?
