Incredibly eye-opening in regards to President Snow's thought process, as well as the origins of quite a few other songs and details in the original trilogy. Easily a good basis for a tv series, I think. Horrifying and fascinating to reflect on.

Jennifer Lynn Barnes seems to have written a series that only gets better with each book. The twists and turns of the plot continue, but somehow remain unfamiliar as you read, and the Brothers Hawthorne, so far, is the pinnacle of the series by far. Reading the Inheritance Games, I was mildly interested. I don't like to leave a series unfinished so I continued to the Hawthorne Legacy, believing the sequel would tie up all the loose ends nicely, and there would be few openings for a continuance of the story past the sequel. By the time I finished book two, the well-developed characters and intriguing plot twists had me delighted to find The Final Gambit was soon to be released, by which, I was enraptured, but sure would be the end. Thankfully, the possibilities, choices, and puzzles of the plot have been well thought out, because now, here I am, anxiously awaiting the release of book 5.

January:Not a bad read. Very fanfic type of storyline with classy smut scenes as opposed to typical overly descriptive and uncomfortable. Impressive to me because most books that attempt a classy smut style come off as more of an overly shy, and possibly embarrassed, fifty shades wanna-be scene, and this was not that. It has enticed me to continue to the next book for sure, although, as short as the book was, I'd almost rather they were just parts or sections of a bigger book. It would make more sense anyway, at least in my opinion, but overall, worth the read for those who enjoy a good steamy romance.
February:Book number two was just as fulfilling as January was. It was both much hotter and less romantic than book one in many ways, but somehow that just worked. The art talked about in February, I'm assuming doesn't exist, but boy do I wish it did, because the pieces sound like they would be amazing. Much more original storyline in February, and an enticing one at that. I look forward to continuing the series.
March: The plot was good, and I was happy for the return of one of my favorite characters. The main character's sudden love of whiskey after making a point to express her hatred of it in the first book, however, was a bit off-putting when it comes to continuity, but all in all, not a terrible installment. Definitely not near as good as the first two though.

A great book for younger children, and horse-obsessed little girls. It's a beginner chapter book with some black-and-white illustrations that does a fair job of offering an age-appropriate window into the past and how Icelandic people lived. My daughter loved me reading some to her every night before bed.

Exciting and arousing, but the overuse of some words disrupted the flow somewhat.

I loved this book. I felt like I was in the piece experiencing everything firsthand. This book brought me laughs, adrenaline, tears, and exhaustion with every page. I absolutely will not complain about this book not being requested.

Just as good as the first four books but definitely more depressing and sad I think. Also felt a bit rushed, honestly.

By far, my favorite book in the series yet. Helps quite a few puzzle pieces fall into place.

I didn't expect to be so captivated by these books when I bought them at the airport. I finished all three on my flight and was desperate to find the next one. Very eye-opening and fresh in the world of fairy tales.

I got this book as a gift for my mom, who is a great-niece of the writer. She loves it.

The story is entertaining and has quite a few steamy scenes in it. However, there are instances where it is clear the author did not bother to research basic information that could have made the story better and more realistic. Some of the adult scenes also seem to take more from the plot than they give which is a bit disappointing.

My daughter loved the book and flew through it. Now she's begging me for the next one.

This book is just not my kind of book. Honestly, about 12 pages in, I lost interest.
