This book is the Spanish translation of Esperanza Rising.
Nota de la autora:
Mi abuela, Esperanza Ortega, fue la inspiracion de este libro. Cuando yo era chica, mi abuela solia hablarme de como era su vida cuando vino de Mexico a Estados Unidos.

Freundenberger's short stories are soulfully crafted. The characters were so believable I felt as if I were reading a biography, and caught myself wondering what the characters' lives are like today. A budding writer would find this collection instructive.

This is not a stereotypical western. Rather, it is an insightful portrayal of mob rule. This story shows how hard it is to go against popular consensus, how sometimes charismatic people lead others astray, and how acting on incomplete or false information can lead to a tragic outcome.
There is a good reason why this book is considered one of the best books in its genre. It's powerful.
