Almost halfway through this boring book, I kept thinking, ok, something is just about to happen. By the time I reached the end, I was STILL waiting for something to happen.

This dull & unexciting book would be perfect for those who want to read without thinking, because although it did BRING UP some interesting issues, it never went any further than that with any of them.

Very intriguing present-day true crime story centered in Florence, Italy. Gives not only a detailed history of the crimes and its investigations, but a interesting look into the twisted activities of Italian law enforcement, politics, and their entire judicial system. The story is not just a description of the killings, or of the mastermind behind them, it is a story about the two authors of this book, and how they became personally & dangerously intertwined in the very story that they were researching. An excellent & very educational read!

I really enjoyed this book. . until I reached the end. It leaves you wanting more, and not in a good way. Its like a really good movie that ends abruptly & without any sort of finality, and you're sitting there feeling completely gypped. If I had to sum this book up in one word, the word would be 'unsatisfying'.

Very intriguing & original horror story. The movie did NOT do this book justice! Definitely one of the creepiest I've read!

I did not find this book boring or overly-descriptive at any point. This story really does grab your heart in every way & I actually didn't want it to end. The writing was easy to read . I loved Almondine, Edgar, & Essay, and the chapters describing Almondine's thoughts were touching & beautiful. This book is so so very good. . until you reach the end.

I wanted so bad for it to have a satisfying ending of some sort, not even a happy ending. .I would have settled with ANY type of ending other than the one it had. But it was just awful. And I am not the person that has to have perfect and happy endings to enjoy a book. I like my share of sad, tear-jerker stories, as I would be absolutely bored if they all ended happily.
The ending felt completely wrong. As if part V was written by someone else entirely different from the author of the first four parts, someone given the job to just finish the book. There were many seemingly important loose ends & side plots left completely unaddressed. It me feel like I had been fooled into thinking I was reading something great, different, inspiringly beautiful, as the ending made all of that I had read before seem almost worthless.

I would not recommend this book, solely because of how terrible it made me feel after I finished reading it. I know I sound pretty harsh, but I just have finished the book, so my emotions from reading it are very fresh!

This book was a pretty quick read, and I was extremely glad when I was finished! Although I am not one to shy away from shocking or "sexually charged" texts, this book was difficult to stomach, and is in no way one that could be enjoyed. The 13 year old main character comes off as much younger than 13, which in a way makes the story even more disturbing. The entire book was filled with extremely graphic sexual narrative. I might be missing something, but I can't understand at all the positive reviews this book has received.
