A team of doctors has issued Linnet Allen a dire prognosis: early death. Fighting despair and with nothing to lose, Linnet and her father Judd accept an invitation to Judd's brother's Utah ranch. Far from a sterile sanitarium, the Rocking A Ranch in Moab, Utah, is a no-frills working ranch in the 1890s, surrounded by wild horses, breathtaking views, and ruthless outlaws. Wild horses bring former cowboy Andy Cullen to these unsettled parts, and he won't leave until one particular stallion is his. Seemingly Andy and the frail Linnet have little in common, yet looks can be deceiving. For as determined as the cowboy is to possess the ebony-coated Sheik, so one young woman is to claim life and the dreams of love. But until their dreams become reality, if ever they do, both will be captives of the canyon.

She is many things to many people. To her father and the servants of Glen More, she is the mistress of a majestic southern plantation. To the proud Confederacy, she is a fearless spy, incapable of being intimidated, even in a Yankee prison. To an enemy lieutenant, she is the love of his life, the woman he may never see again. Now as the northern armies close in on the teetering capital of Richmond, Kaitland finds herself in a new role. An aide in a filled-to-capacity hospital, she administers compassion more often than vials of medicine. As the last stronghold of the South succumbs to fiery forces of the Union, will the indomitable, unquenchable spirit that is in Kaitland Trevilian survive?

This book is SO AWESOME! Even though it reveals the undesirable side of the life of a prostitute, it makes the picture of God's love toward His Bride so much clearer - all his patience, love and endurance he gives to His Bride. This was the first book that I ever keep updating my husband on as I read it. :-)

This book is an absolute MUST for any woman who is serious about making her marriage all that God wants it to be. I have been married 21 years, and I have found myself wishing I would have had this book 22 years ago. I would have saved myself and my marriage so many mistakes!! But, there is hope for those who have been married as long as I have. Read this book and get some insight on how we CAN change and do better in our covenant with our husband!
