Peter Straub said "Masterful Storytelling". Absolutely true, an amazing book! This book was a New York Times bestseller and the author has won many awards, among them the World Fantasy Award and the Bram Stoker Award. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said "By turns thoughtful, hilarious, disturbing, uplifting, horrifying and enjoyable". All true, a not miss book.

Somewhat dated but the principles/information are still valid. This is an excellent easily understood description of how to invest in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.

An excellent basic book for tenants AND landlords. So many people are landlords but uninformed as to their responsibilities under the law and this book lays it out. Written by lawyers who know their business and make it easy for the layman. This book is dated but nonetheless contains still valid information as changes to landlord/tenant law are few. You can buy the most recent copy from Nolo Press, a self-help publisher of legal books for the layman, located in Berkeley, CA. Absolutely excellent books, all you could hope for and more! Live in California and money is tight? Get this book for only one credit, well worth it to get started.

My copy of this book is in like new condition, excepting the dust jacket which shows some wear, with all necessary forms and state by state instructions as to how to expunge an arrest record. The cover reads: "Detailed instructions show how to take advantage of recent legislation - inexpensively and without a lawyer's help - and have an arrest record taken off the books. Introduction by Aryeh Neier, Former Executive Director, American Civil Liberties Union." The back cover reads in part: "Have you ever been arrested? Many millions of Americans would have to answer "Yes" to this question. But these statistics do not show how arrest records grow into paper prisons - for, when a person is arrested, at least five separate records are created, on levels such as city, county, state and federal. Those caught in the paper prisons are thereby stigmatized for life, with their standing in the community affected. They will encounter problems throughout life, in obtaining licenses, loans, civil service, and - most difficult - in seeking employment. Clean Slate provides up-to-date, expert help on sealing, annulling, or expunging your arrest record, plus much other valuable information on the rights accorded you as a citizen by the laws of the land. Plus, Clean Slate advances compelling arguments for a complete revision of records keeping and a subsequent changing of the American legal system." My book was published in 1979 so it is probably not up to date in every regard, but this big, important book will cost you only one credit and get you started, if not taken all the way through, the process of expunging your arrest record. If you find you need some particular current info your local library can give you what you need, at no cost either.

Don't have time to do this book justice but want to let you know that you will really enjoy it, there's no doubt of that! Taylor Caldwell's books are so much better than most, even the glut of superficial bestsellers we all know so well. She writes with a depth of feeling and consumate knowledge of man to a degree one rarely finds elsewhere. All of her books are remarkable, real treats! This book was published years ago and the pages are yellow but not brittle and the binding is tight and strong. There is no writing or underlining. The covers show some wear but are not bad.

"The Face of Fear" by Dean Koontz is one of his all time best! Fabulously told story and unremitting tension and suspense. If you haven't read this yet you're in for a treat!

You are a Horse if you were born in 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, or 2002 and the book gives general information regarding your sign of Horse, so it isn't relegated to the year 2009 entirely. The back of the book reads: "This book contains detailed readings on - The kind of luck the year brings you

Riveting read about a devastating high rise building fire and what numerous well delineated characters endure. Was a New York Times Best Seller for a long time.

Helpful Score: 1
The book, The Da Vinci Code, (huge best seller and made into a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks), delves into the mystery as to Mary Magdalene's true relationship with Jesus Christ, among other things, and this non-fiction work, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, written by a noted religious scholar, gives the reader more very interesting information concerning this matter.

I really enjoyed this book, written by a psychologist, but not unduly complex, just a page-turning, stay-up-all-night thriller, with better than usual suspense, great story line, uncommon.

As this set is comprised of three historical and lengendary hardcover books, all in a slipcase, I want to swap the entire set with one person and in exchange would need three books from my Wishlist or from topics I desire like thrillers (not mysteries per se), horror, best selling fiction; writers like John Grisham (need The Associate); Books one and two of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein; books one, two and four of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer; The Host by Stephenie Meyer, etc. Any CDs or DVDs with Noam Chomsky also wanted. Thanks!

Marie Browning is the best in her field in my opinion. She has mastered many crafts from greeting card making and scrapbooking to soap making, casting for crafters, decorating pots, jars, gift baskets, craft lettering made easy, making purses with pizzazz, creating journals, albums and more, hand decorating paper, fabulous gift wraps, decoupage, etc. If you want the best in these areas get her books: they're well written, easy to understand and follow and have good, clear instructions with color photos and where necessary, good patterns and templates.

This is a stand alone book. I had never read any other Nelson Demille book, but hadn't needed to. "Night Fall" is excellent and I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

A true story of riveting psychological intensity by the assistant D.A. who prosecuted the captor of the "girl in the box". If you like true crime you will like this book!

I wasn't sure about this book due to the synopsis of the story, but now having read it, have to say it's one of Koontz's best, thoroughly enjoyed it. One of those books you just can't put down. If you love Dean Koontz's books you will definitely love this one.

From the back cover: "Another illusion-shattering, fact filled masterpiece from the man the New York Times called 'arguably the most important intellectual alive'. Here are a few, brief excerpts:
In 1970, about 90% of international capital was used for trade and long-term investment - more or less productive things - and 10% for speculation. By 1990, those figures had reversed.
Haiti, a starving island, is exporting food to the US - about 35 times as much under Clinton as under Bush.
The US government spent more money per capita to get the presidential candidate it favored elected in Chile in 1964 than was spent by both candidates (Johnson and Goldwater) in the 1964 election here in the United States.
The gap between how much income is held by the richest and poorest 20% has increased dramatically over the past 30 years - about double for rich vs. poor countries and far more for rich vs. poor people.
What the public wants is called 'politically unrealistic'. Translated into English, that means power and privilege are opposed to it.

Extraordinary book, quite fascinating. One reviewer disagreed with some of the premises but the two authors are professionals and certainly far more knowledgable than a woman with no education in this field. The authors are professional researchers and experts in historical and religious mysteries, along with being writers and lecturers.
