Very disappointing. Illogical plot, stilted writing, and poor characterizations.

After the dreadful "What Came Before He Shot Her", I was really anticipating Elizabeth George getting her stride back with this latest book.
Not quite there yet. I usually rip through a new E.G. book in one sitting - this one took me 5 days - and it was VERY easy to put down.

At last. A clearly written explanation of Health Care Reform. This is an adult comic book or graphic novel, which makes it easy to read and comprehend. The author, Jonathan Gruber, PhD, is a professor of economics at MIT,a "key architect of the Massachusetts Health Reform effort" and an expert consultant to Congress during the writing of the Affordable Care Act. Even those who are viscerally opposed to the U.S. losing it's status as the only First World nation in the world without a comprehensive health care system should read this book.

"Norah Lofts has skillfully woven together the isolated stories of the 3 Wise Men and of Mary and Joseph, giving the traditional story of the coming of the Messiah a color, depth, and dimension never before attained in fiction." - from the book cover.
An amazing book that I have re-read every Christmas for the past 30 years. Norah Lofts has humanized the iconic figures of the characters of the Birth of Christ in this retelling of the Christmas story.

Awful. Mercedes Lackey is one of my favorite authors and I was really looking forward to this book. What a disappointment. I couldn't finish it - a first for a Valdemar novel.

"The first two chapters from the autobiographical "Time of Gifts", about a young man's travels from London to Constantinople in 1934. It looks at his encounters in Europe, with locals and traditions, and also touches on the growing Nazi movement in Germany and the different cultures in Europe." from Amazon.com
Buy "Time of Gifts" - why buy only the first two chapters??
