Awful book. Got through a third of the book and just couldn't rationalize wasting any more time on it. Just absolutely boring. Expected at least a partially serious, dramatic book and all I found was comedy.

This is a wonderful book. The characters just draw you in to the point that, when you put the book down, you're still wondering what they are all up to when you aren't reading it.

Very good introduction to the culture of the Mediaeval Woman. While the serious, long-time mediaevalist won't find anything new here, it would be a good book for a sophomore level college course; and of course, anyone who takes an arm chair fancy to mediaeval history.

I loved this book. It pulled me right in. The characters are amazingly real. I loved the character of McEchern, the owner of the general store and of course Mary, herself. I can only hope the author comes out with a continuation. It was very hard coming to the end. I wanted it to go on indefintely.
