My kids are in their 20's now, but they still remember the Amelia Bedelia books with affection.

A fun look back at the 60's, 70's, and 80's.

I have actually read this book and am not copying the description from the back of the book. Believe me, except for some funny family history at the beginning and here and there throughout there is nothing hilarious about this book. The woman who wrote it is completely lacking in common sense and is so desperate for love that she will do the most unimaginably idiotic things to pursue it. She may be bright, but she sure isn't smart. She's lucky to be alive. I don't know if she learned anything because the last page of the book states that she lives in Los Angelos with a guy she "picked up" in Bolivia. I imagine he's long gone by now, but I'm sure she's found a replacement or two in trips back to Central America. She should just save her money and time and check-out the homeless shelters.

Absolutely awful and absurd. I don't know why it got so much positive press when it first came out. I don't think I was the only one disappointed by this ridiculous book.

This is one of the most moving and interesting books I have ever read. Everyone I lent it to loved it. It is on my list of favorite books. I just don't understand the poor reviews.

This is two books in one. Heartbreaking and moving. You won't believe the terrible things a mother (she doesn't deserve the title) did to her child.

Not really a mystery or a thriller. Just a weird work of fiction. Strange and surprising.

Very entertaining. Better than the movie. And the boss is much meaner than in the movie.

Not intellectually stimulating, but a quick to read entertaining tear-jerker.

One strange story. Didn't expect to read a Swedish mystery and end up in Latvia. Did not understand why Kurt Wallander who knew nothing about Latvia was the only person who could help, but oh well, that's the story. Enjoyable and I will read the next book in the series.

I expected to be a little more "wowed" by this book because I know several people who love this Henning Mankell series. It's okay, but a little dark for my taste. I will read more out of curiousity to see if they get better.

Okay, and I did care about the little girl and her mother. Of course, I hated the mother's sister who was full of envy. She got the end she deserved.

This is one of the most delightful books I have ever read. I have given it to lots of family and friends and they have all loved it. Who would think a book about a pig could be so touching. Wonderful!

The struggles of a newly married couple to renovate a very old and dilapidated house. Spellbinding in a different kind of way. I think I was more stressed than they were about their money problems and pressure on their marriage. Definitely anxiety producing, but very good.
