Rex Stout has again written 3 great stories about Nero Wolf and Archie Goodwin. He gives all the clues neatly and yet in just the right way to keep the reader uncertain to the end. A good read.

After watching the British series, I was curious to see if the books were as good. I was pleasantly surprised. This book was a complex murder mystery with entertainingly funny parts and a great surprise ending.

Non stop action, a man both out of his element and yet strangely perfect for the job, and a budding romance. What more do you need.

I was really affected by the ending of this book. Make sure you read the "Historical Notes" at the very end. It changes the whole perspective of the book.

An elderly spy, a retired agent and a reluctant assassin makes a great combination for a wonderful series.

The last in a great series. It is nice to have a character who uses her retirement years to follow a dream and prove that age and knowledge can be just as important as youth and gadgets.

An excellent story of small town, USA at the beginning of the 1900s and the people who use gossip to bring a good man down to their level.

I found the main character depressing and childish, but the story line was fast paced and kept me guessing.
