Moves from wartime Suffolk to Fifties Hollywood and from glitzy Madison Avenue to London's theatrical aristocracy and the machination of cheque book publishing.

Don't go into this thinking the main character is a cat person. She hunts up missing cats, but does not like them. And a lot of cats die, so skip it if that's a problem for you. The main story is jumpy, and gets hard to keep track of at times. Overall, I simply did not enjoy this book on many levels.
