I loved this book. It started out a tiny bit slowly, but I didn't have to stick with it too long at all before I got sucked in. This is a book that takes place on the "home front" of World War I, in rural Oregon. The main character is a female horse wrangler. She helps people domesticate wild horses. I would consider it somewhat of a coming-of-age tale for her, and a great historical fiction read in general.

I learned about this book via the "read a book published by a micropress" task of the 2017 Read Harder Challenge. I was lucky to find a used copy here on PaperBack Swap, so I got it even though I had already read another book for the task. I have to say that I love the cover, size, and feel of the book probably more than anything, though the book itself is really good, too:) It's great writing, and if you like animals and nature you're in luck, as there's a lot of this incorporated into the stories.
