Our hero in this book is a man with a dark past, real dark. John Horatio Leaf lived a life that some described as John having been to hell and back. This high class gentleman is about to learn a thing or two about real life.
I enjoy reading books by this author as she always adds a touch of humor. In this book it was through the antics of a big dog named Buford. Poor Buford, if he wasn't ripping clothes off people, he was shaking in fear of heights or some other shadow that scared him. I'm looking forward to the books for her friends Millie and Lucetta. Millie's book is next...In Good Company.

Ryan Kowalski has come back to Northern Star Lodge in Whitford, Maine to help his brothers get it fixed up to sell. Hes been home over the past few years and each time he tries to ignore the beautiful Lauren. This time is different. Not only does he run into her in town, he catches her son vandalizing their property and makes Nick work it off. Leaving Lauren to come by the lodge to pick her son up and maybe giving Ryan a second chance.
Lauren Carpenter had been in love with Dean. Little did she realize before it was too late that Dean didnt exactly return her feelings. She did not regret having her son, Nick. Even when he fell into the criminal category and had to work off his crimes with Ryan, a man she had an unusual past with. A man too handsome for any women to resist. Even her. Too bad he lives almost five hours away and will be returning there after repairing the lodge.
Once again Shannon takes us into the world of the lovable Kowalski family. Two of the brothers have found their forever loves, Sean and Emmas story is in book 3: Yours To Keep and Mitch and Paiges story is in Book 4: All He Ever Needed. As always we see hints of other love interests within the story as well to keep the reader looking forward to the next book. Which will be Joshs story in All He Ever Dreamed. A really enjoyable series from the beginning. Book 1 is Exclusively Yours and book 2 is Undeniably Yours.

He never had the choice in his life and it looked as if he never would.
Katie Davis had a secret, well not really. She had been in love with Josh for as long as she could remember. It seems most of the whole town knew as well, everyone but Josh. When thrown together to help out while her mom was sick, Katie saw her one chance at trying to get Josh to notice her as woman instead of his best buddy, one of the guys. But would she be willing to just have Josh settle for her because he was stuck in Whitford the rest of his life?
The Kowalski series starts with the first two books about one Kowalski family, two brothers, and the last four books have been their cousins. Josh has seen his brother Sean come home from the army and marry a girl plenty far away from the lodge. His brother Ryan found his true love in the last book but he has moved away as well. His brother Mitch has found his true love as well and still lives in Whitford, but travels out of town with his demolition company. The author has done a fantastic job of bringing out the emotions the characters are going through. Josh being torn between family and tradition versus his own dreams. Katie loving him but not wanting to hang onto him if hell be unhappy and Rosie who wants to see her daughter and Josh married and giving her grand-babies in the family lodge. Excellent story.

If you like reading connected books you may want to read Hearts Under Caution first, as this book continues where that one ended.
Jake Hinson goes to a friends fishing cabin to recover from his boating accident. Not only did he have physical healing to deal with, but also the guilt that his friend died and he didn't. Being use to constantly moving and staying busy it didn't take long for Jake to be bored. That is until he met his beautiful neighbor and her feisty dog.
Stacy Carter just wanted to be out of the limelight so she headed to her brothers fishing cabin. She planned on staying to herself but somehow her handsome neighbor drew her to him. Best of all he didnt seem to recognize her from her last incident or from her past.
Both Jake and Stacy hide their true identities as they enjoy each other just as regular people. Can their blossoming relationship survive when Stacy finds out hes a NASCAR driver who enjoys the media while she is trying to hide from it? Both of these books were really good and I recommend reading them in order to get the full picture.

We met Anna Finch in book 1 of this series. She loved Daniel Beck, but the love was not returned. Now she just wants to live her life and not be stuck in a marriage. She wants to be a journalist, ride horse astride and shoot her gun. Her parents want someone to marry and tame her.
Jeb Sanders is a Pinkerton agent who carries a grudge. He just wants to rid the world of Doc Holliday. He does not want to be a nursemaid for a spoiled rich girl, but he his. This fancy gal is much more than she seems, he quickly finds out.
I really enjoyed this story. It continued with characters you meet in book one. Added to the mix are Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, along with an annoying newspaper columnists who writes as he sees it, usually not as it is. A really enjoyable series.

This story is told from Danielle's point of view only. I read the older version from Steeple Hill. There is now an updated version. I really enjoyed this story. After reading it nine years ago, I just reread it and enjoyed...and cried...all over again. Mordi is one of those characters whos been in most all of the books. You can see where the war between good and evil is fought within him and that hes just a lost little boy. You rooted for him to do the right thing, but his desire for Dearest Daddys love was just too strong. It made this story all the more exciting. As with the previous books the author brings in the other characters. Its been my favorite kind of series as they had roles in their own books as well as the other stories. The final story is in the Anthology: These Boots Were Made for Stomping A Step in the Right Direction.

So when he is assigned to find Aphrodites Girdle and has to get close to a mortal he figures hell do what he does best. Hell seduce her, get the belt and be on his way. That was his plan anyways.
Tracy Tannin is far from famous like her grandmother was. In fact, she finds herself rather plain. When she finds an unfashionable belt her grandma left her, she starts wearing it for confidence and it seems to work. Suddenly men are giving her attention and asking her out. And mugging her. Her life takes a sudden turn and at least the handsome Hale is there to help her.
One of Hales superpowers is animalinguist, he can talk to animals. His constant companion is Elmer the ferret. The author does a remarkable job of bringing Elmer to life and he often steals the show with his thoughts and comments. This is actually the fourth story with some of the same characters.
