A riveting account of the events of the Revolutionary war during that year. A great "behind-the-scenes" look.

An entertaining look into life at a mid-century prison. Life on the island for the employees must have been quite interesting. I had no idea that families lived there.

Since I am a big fan of baseball it was interesting to hear this in Babe Ruth's own words. Since so much time is spent in describing games you have to have a grasp of baseball to really enjot it.

The actual story of Bridget Cleary was interesting but the book also went into a lot of background information about that time period and before. Some of this helped in understanding the reasoning of the people involved but a lot of it was unnecessary. I found myself wanting to skip parts and get back to the story of Bridget.

A very thought-provoking and entertaining book. Ms. Flagg uses her quirky sense of humor to show the trials of a family responsible for an aging member. Even though the topic is serious, she keeps a sense of humor through it all.

Having grown up in Wilson, NY I found this book fascinating. It is a very personal account of thoughts and feelings during the battles. It might seem dry if you are not interested in that time period, but for anyone interested in Civil War history it is something that should be read.

Wow! I didn't know that. An in depth look at Elizabeth's life that you don't get in the history books. We see her as the Virgin Queen but there is so much more to that.

A heart wrenching account of one of the worst events in world history. Eva did not hold anything back about the suffering people went through. A great history lesson.
