The story of Rennie Wilford, a young journalist whose life has begun to shatter around the edges. Rennie flies to the Caribbean to recuperate, and on the tiny island of St. Antoine, she is confronted by a world where her rules for survival no longer apply. By turns comic, satiric, relentless, and terrifying, Margarat Atwood's new novel is ultimately an exploration of the lust for power both sexual and political, and the need for compassion that goes beyond what we ordinarily mean by love.

H. Verlan Andersen was the father of twelve children, ten of whom are still living. He and his wife, Shirley Hoyt Andersen, have ninety-nine grandchildren, with more on the way.
He was a very good friend of Ezra Taft Benson .... this book was the final effort to tie their political beliefs together. It identifies parallels of the Nephite experience with the self-government, under the reign of judges, with our experience with self-government under our Constitution. ......

This book is great! We love the rubber tabs on the corners (for chewing) and there's a hole in the middle of the book to make it easier to hold. The story is very cute and true!

This book has a great story but at times seems to get sidetracked.... not as good as I had hoped it would be.

Going... to the centuries-old auction was the dream of every witch and warlock. They knew the prize offered for bidding would give them power beyond belief. And they would do anything for a chance to win the prize.
Going... to the auction was not Valerie Lancaster's idea. She had heard rumors that said only the winner returned alive and wanted no part of it. But when her father was murdered for his invitation, she knew she had to go in order to find out who had slain him - and to keep from being killed herself.
Gone! Accompanied by her father's friend Alex Warner, Valerie confronted werewolves, golems, and the most powerful sorcerers in the world. But when the appointed hour arrived, they found they had survived only to face the greatest danger of all - The Devil's Auction.

A novel of epic passion and adventure!
The Harem woman and the Viking prince.
Raised in an Egyptian harem, betrothed when she was only ten years old, Aisha has grown up veiled, pampered, adorned with jewels, and schooled in the arts of desire. Yet her life dramatically changes when the fearsome Vikings sail their dragon ships into Cairo's harbor and when the barbarian prince, Dan Sea Kingson, strides into her life.
Taken captive, Aisha is soon protected by a monk who encourages her to make her way through the dangerous and heathen northern lands. Dan, in the meantime, is driven to find her. His quest will change his destiny, his passion will changer her life. When they finally come together, nothing will separate them - not the treachery of the times or the violence of the land - as Dan takes Aisha out into a world where a woman can blossom with love.
