While shorter than her earlier work this book certainly was well worth the effort of reading. I understand this is the first book in a series and I can not wait for more. The central character is faced with some truly life changing events and makes decisions that broke my heart and had me cheering for her in the end.
This book is an easy read and would be a great snuggling under the covers book or reading by the pool.

This book was certainly an eye opener. If you knew the world as you knew it was going to end in 21 days what would you do to prepare? Wendy Brown breaks it down into chunks with each day being a focus for the end of your world.
I enjoyed the attention to detail that the author gave the topics which ranged from homeschooling to hygiene and everything in between. Not your average "buy guns and wheat berries" survival book this is one worth reading, keeping and contemplating.

I thoroughly enjoyed this books and all of it's unexpected plot twists. I could not put it down and found myself reading at 2am on a work day because I was so enrgossed in it. The characters are well developed and easy to identify with, if not always sympathetic. Even the crazy guy.
My one concern was that this book should have been broken down into two or three books so that the middle part where Bianca leaves could be more explored and fleshed out. All in all a great book with a fabulous ending that is truly unexpected.

I was so excited to read this book having read others of hers and enjoying them. This book I found to be disappointing however.
I felt like I didn't have a good background of the characters and how they related to each other. It seemed like there were too many people wih too little background information.
While I don't doubt that many people live the way that the main characters live it seems like a lot of information is assumed that the reader will know and I don't find that to be the case. Also they seem to pull in other characters who have no trouble adjusting to the rustic and sudden way of life which seemed also unlikely.
Overall I felt like it was a waste of time reading and couldn't get into the book because I found so much of it bad and unbelievable.

This book kept my attention from the entire time. I felt transported back to 1665 and the entire world was painted in vivid detail for me by the author. The ending seemed a little contrived but because I was so engrossed in the rest of the book I'm willing to believe the rest of it.
Encourage anyone who loves historical or speculative historical fiction to read this and contemplate their own actions if they were in Eyam.
