3 Guys You'll Never Date : You Can Leave Your Hard Hat On / The Total Package / Her Hero? (Signature Select)
Review Date: 7/23/2006

A pleasure to read. All three stories are tied together - three best friends looking for men who are their equal in every way...so NO ditch-diggers, geeks, or used-car salesmen for them. The old adage "never say never" is definitely played out here.

The 7 lb. 2 oz. Valentine (Baby of the Month Club, Bk 3) (Silhouette Yours Truly, No 13)
Review Date: 5/28/2012

A sweet fast read. The story is further enhanced if you read the entire "Baby of the Month Club" continuity mini-series.

Probably ranks right up there as one of the worse, if not THE worst, book that I've ever read. The writing is amateurish, clumsy, and cliché-ridden. The characters are so wooden and false that there is no suspension of disbelief. This book is just so bad...a complete waste of paper. The author spends too much time writing about things that drift away from the subject, character histories, and the like. Because of this, the book moves slowly - took me weeks to finish.

This was a "A" book - definitely a keeper.

At the Edge: Dark Fire / Wildcat / Return to Sender

"Dark Fire" by Elizabeth Lowell is the best of the three stories with "Return to Sender" by Merline Lovelace following. A very satisfying anthology.

Baby on the Doorstep: The Woman Next Door / Tomorrow's Promises / Daniel's Song

This was a very sweet read. It was great to have all three short love stories interrelated, making up a greater love story which all begins with a baby on the doorstep.

Tells the story of the Monclair Emeralds - this book contains 3 of the 4 books in the series. Each book is a story on its own and can be read without having read any of the others. My favorite is by Jayne Ann Krentz - JOY. Very good.

For a romance book, there is very little romance - just a lot of steamy looks. It's not until 2/3rds of the way through the book that the couple even kiss. IMHO, it is very poorly written, the author follows the same cookie-cutter plot in each book of the series. Nothing original here...only the names have been changed.

Can't Help Falling in Love / Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love (Harlequin Duets, No 93)
Review Date: 3/25/2007

Really loved this two-in-one story about the Kimballs of Baxter, Georgia. Definitely loved this family and their quest to find love despite the reservations they have with the one fate has picked out for them. After this one, you need to read "Sparking His Interest", Book #3 of the Kimballs and then Book #4 "The Eleventh Hour" both by Wendy Etherington and finishes up the Kimball Family saga.

Carrera's Bride (Long Tall Texans) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 1645)

A typical Diana Palmer romance but I enjoyed it. Call it a guilty pleasure!

Get this book for Linda Howard's story "Mackenzie's Magic" - a wonderful part of the Mackenzie Family legacy.

Destiny's Child (Children of Destiny, Bk 2) (Silhouette Desire, No 451)

Better than the previous book in the Children of Destiny series but still needs work on the characterizations. Too predictable.

This was a very disappointing story - hardly any passion or romance between the two main characters but alot of fighting and arguing. It makes you wonder at what point did they fall in love with each other when they spent so much of their time disagreeing about everything! There were two kisses during the whole story until the final chapter when they settle all their differences.

DRIVE ME CRAZY by Nancy Warren takes you on a romantic adventure as Duncan and Alex race to look for a Van Gogh painting before a madman who is also looking for the Van Gogh and is taking lives with him. Duncan and Alex let their attraction lead them to some hot and heavy moments - and fun and games. But there were times when their relationship seemed forced and superficial especially when you compare it to the secondary romance going on in the story. It is the sweet and touching reunion of teenage lovers - Alex's cousin, Gillian and the town sheriff, Tom Perkins - that makes you want to continue to read DRIVE ME CRAZY until the last page. Gillian and Tom's relationship was much more believable, tender and romantic.

Falling For You (24 Hours: The Wedding) (Harlequin Temptation, No 1014)
Review Date: 6/2/2007
Helpful Score: 2

Surprisingly funny with very good dialogue. What keeps it from being a great story for me is the lack of passion between the two main characters. It didn't appear until late in the story although the sexual tension remains high as you wonder "will they or won't they? Also, the controversy with the congressman was too complex to understand what was happening right away and isn't resolved satisfactorily at the end because it continues on to the next story in the series "KISS AND RUN" (Harlequin Temptation #1018) when another couple get involved but come at it from a different angle.
