Entertaining and educational (edu-taining?), this book made me laugh out loud several times while learning about the origins of many medical "cures" and practices. It contains humorous asides and plentiful illustrations. After finishing the book, I began listening to their podcasts. I'm hooked on Sawbones.

Listened to this as an audio book in the car. The main character Meri is not very likable, sneaky and is passive-aggressive. I found the book to be dull and looked forward to it being over. The ending is a little shocking, but even more so is Meri's justification for her marriage-destroying behavior while she leads her "happily ever after" life.

Had seen some of the trial coverage on Court TV. Read the book for a more thorough and detailed picture. This case had a lot of difficult aspects to it. Unfortunately, by the time the murder investigation was started; she had moved & cleaned the apartment, and had plenty of time to hide/ destroy a lot of evidence. Although I already knew the outcome, I still had a few questions regarding evidence/ clues and leads were not followed up on,etc that were not mentioned or addressed in this book. Overall, it was quite the page turner, and would recommend it as a very interesting murder case.
