A nice little mystery written in the "British mystery tradition." Its characters are believable and well defined. Moves right along. I liked it.

I liked this book; it was hard to put down. The action moves quickly thru turn-of-the-century New York City. The mystery is puzzling and satisfactorily solved. If you're a New Yorker, you'll be delighted with the historical details.

A very well written book. There are two "grim murders" that are eventually linked. Uncovering the secrets and getting to the solution makes for a very good read. I would give this book 3.5 stars.
