Supplies an interesting look at the life during that era, as well as the trials the early Amish endured. Also was intriguing to learn the conditions of ships and sailing at that time. The main heroine, Anna is both spunky and reserved. Another main character, Felix provides a nice break from the romantic drama with hilarious commentary. The only problem I would have is one character who was very exasperating. However, all things considered, it was a good read, and worth my time.

LETITIA BALDRIGES MORE THAN MANNERS : Raising Today's Kids to Have Kind Manners and Good Hearts
Review Date: 1/2/2010
Helpful Score: 2

I was expecting just standard manner information. This goes beyond conservative everyday life and I read things that I was uncomfortable with and certainly would not go over with my young dd. Book is titled correctly - I would not suggest it for conservative families with conservative teachings. This book went into the Mr. Trash Can. Perhaps her earlier books would be better!
