Really fascinating follow-up to The Hunger Games. The quarter quell adds a different angle to the storyline. Parts of it are slower than the first book, but the ending is quite dramatic and leads clearly into the next book of the series.

I've loved all of Torey Hayden's nonfiction books, and stuck with this one because I kept expecting to understand the storyline better. The ending was very abrupt and, although it tied up loose ends, did not seem to provide a satisfactory conclusion. I hate to say I don't like something from Torey Hayden, but I just couldn't follow this one.
