The novel was entertaining and informative. It gave me a surprising picture of a young girl's gypsy life. I would recommend the book.

A thought-provoking search for spiritual meaning. I also learned more about the Orthodox Jewish faith through the practices of Shapiro's father and other relatives. I would recommend this memoir of quest for meaning.
