The "Pirates Code/Guidelines" by 'Joshamee Gibbs' was a better version of this. It's a great collectable for fans, but if you want to read it done right, grab the one by "Gibbs" instead.

I LOVE the original novels associated with the BtVS series. HOWEVER, this was my LEAST FAVORITE that I EVER read... Because it is really a novelization of the video game, there is very little plot, and it's mostly a book of fight-description. The blow-by-blow of what seems like dozens of physical altercations in only 100 pages or so.
I was very disappointed. I'd rather play through the video game and read a better Buffy novel.

I am not a die-hard Nora Roberts fan. I don't read everything she writes (or ghostwrites). I have read TWO of her "magically inclined" trilogies, this was the second (I read Three Sisters Island trilogy first). I loved all the books from both trilogies and could not reccomend them more.
The Circle trilogy was fun and romantic and exciting. I have always loved and hated that you can tell who everyone is going to end up with as the trilogy goes on, but the pace and the excitement of these books were fantastic, and such a change of gears from Three Sisters, but still in a good way.
Loved every bit of all three books. A great read. Grab the whole series if you can. :-)
The Circle trilogy was fun and romantic and exciting. I have always loved and hated that you can tell who everyone is going to end up with as the trilogy goes on, but the pace and the excitement of these books were fantastic, and such a change of gears from Three Sisters, but still in a good way.

With "Fallen Skies," Philippa Gregory once again reminds me of why I love her Historical Fictions. She is an amazing writer, and this particular story had me emotionally invested in no time (Doesn't hurt that I'm an aspiring singer/performer, myself)...
I have virtually no knowledge of England in the time just after WWI, and I found myself happily and entirely engrossed in the world and the story of Lily, Stephen, Charlie & Coventry throughout the book.
It was another book that I wished would have just gone on and on past the last page. :)
Definitely recommended.

My favorite version of my favorite Arthurian legend. The whole series is breathtakingly beautifully written, and I count them among my favorite books of all time.
Waiting for more from Rosalind Miles. I've read all of the fiction she has ever published! Love her!
Read this series if you love the tale of Tristan & Isolde! You won't be disappointed... Like I was with the film I was originally so excited about back in 2006... Bleh.

I was thinking I'd give this book a shot, in spite of the fact that it was compared to the Twilight series (which had a reasonably ok story, but terrible writing--like a "Mary Jane" fanfic...).
I LOVED it. Kept me hooked from the first page, and I couldn't put it down. I love the concept of Maggie Stiefvater's fae. I loved her writing, and it didn't come off as so terribly self-indulgent as Twilight.
I can't wait to read "Ballad" and see what happens to James. I can't wait to read "Shiver." I will continue to look forward to reading whatever Ms. Stiefvater publishes in future.
This one stays in the collection. Sorry, folks. ;)

The entire NIMH series was my FAVORITE when I was a kid!! I loved Justin... I loved the Don Bluth film of The Secret Of NIMH, even though they took their liberties with the story (Mrs. Frisby & The Rats of NIMH was the original book title)... But the rest of the series, Racso/RT Margaret were simply excellent stories as well.
My love of these stories also led into my deep devotion to the Redwall series of books. I still own all three NIMH books somewhere in the boxes of my childhood things, though long ago I had to let my Redwall books go (all together as a series on ebay... oh so sad the life of a broke college student)!
I would reccomend either series with all of my book-loving heart. They are both very special to me.
My love of these stories also led into my deep devotion to the Redwall series of books. I agree with everyone who said it was a quick, fun read. I'm a pirate-lover, and this book did not disappoint. I read a few luke-warm reviews before I got the book for Christmas (right from the Amazon wish list, of course), and I was worried that it wouldn't be as enjoyable as I'd hoped... Thankfully, it was actually a GREAT book, and it engaged me enough that I finished it in just a few days, and never wanted to put it down. :)

Does this book actually exist? Or was the series abandoned?? It's such a shame to have such a decent series of lead-up books, just to have the end remain a mystery forever... Does anyone have any input on this? PM me if you do. I've been waiting years for more of this series.
