In this book, everyone is constantly telling Gracie "no" as she tries to help prepare for the new baby. In the end, Gracie cries and is sad and her daddy lets lets her help with the baby. While this book might add to a collection of books about a new baby, I prefer the message that the older sibling can help with the new baby, such as the books "I'm a Big Brother" / "I'm a Big Sister" by Joanna Cole.

Since the book was written in first person but kept switching between the two main characters, it was hard to follow at times. I'm not usually a fan of first person, but I really enjoyed this book. It was very realistic, had well-developed characters, and really gave you an idea of what life in court was like. It is not a book I would choose to read again, but it was worth reading the first time.

I love most of Denise Hunter's books, and this one is no exception. Denise does an excellent job at creating characters that are real and plot twists that jerk your heart. This story feels very real and intense, but not so emotionally draining that it's hard to read.

I am generally not fond of first person narratives, but I really enjoy Siri Mitchell. This book seemed to flow better than "A Constant Heart" and I was confused less often about who the narrator was. It was very well written. I was personally not fond of the plot twist at the end and would probably not read the book again, but I enjoyed it the first time through.
