I thought it was a good read. Government conspiracies, spies, bombs, guns, high tech gadgets, international security, the whole nine yards!
The characters were interesting, some more than others. The story was good, had me reading for hours at a time.
Id recommend this to anyone whos into this genre.
I'm sure I'll read this again later!

The book was very predicable. There were basically three different stories that you knew would eventually come together. It was a decent read. Fascinating? Hardly. The main character was well written.
The characters were ok, some were memorable, others not so much. The story was a 5 out of 10. I didn't like how some of the parts were wrapped up or the loose ends.
I bought this at .99 cent store or Dollar tree store....that should have been a hint.
Not sure I would give that author another shot.

I really liked it! I liked the science behind it and the story wasn't that bad. A little far fetched perhaps, but a great read none the less. The characters are in my opinion developed enough to fit perfectly in the content of the story.
I particularly enjoy all the technical data and science in the book. Considering that this mostly the type of genre that I read, I understood it and like the fact that the science stays the same (light travels at the same speed regardless of the author). I can also appreciate all the research that was done for this book. The extensive bibliography is the icing on the cake! I will definitely continue to read more of Stel Pavlous work.

Awesome book. Definitely made me a fan of Jack McDevitt's work. I'll be looking forward to reading more of his work.
The story was good Sci-Fi. Space travel, Alien civilizations, new planets and discoveries. All the good qualities to keep a reader interested.
Can't wait to read it again.

I had a good time reading this book, finished it in a couple of days. Ali Reynolds was an interesting character and believable as well. All the other supporting characters were well put together.
The story was good and had a really nice flow to it as it jumped from character to character. The pace just right, not rushed in any way. It had a certain "that can actually happen" kind of vibe to it.
Looking forward to reading more stories about Ali Reynolds by J.A. Jance.

Can't go wrong with Michael Crichton! Hi tech, bio-genetics thriller!! Went through the book really quick. Very hard to put down! I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

Overall I would have to give this a 7 out of 10. As I read the story, I couldn't help thinking of other books I had read with similar ideas. I also thought it was somewhat predictable. All that being said, I still enjoyed it. The characters were likable. I would recommend it. This is my first book by this author, I'd have to read more from him to see if I like his style.

This was my first book by Kim S. Robinson. At first I was a little turned off by his style, after getting further into the book, he won me over. Halfway through the story I couldn't put the book down! The story is awesome! He actually makes you believe what your reading can actually come to pass. I've added Kim Stanley Robinson to my very short list of favorite authors. I recommend "Red Mars" to anyone who likes reading this genre.
I'm off to read "Green Mars"!! :)

It took a long time to get to the good stuff (what little there was), too much back story. It was somewhat of an intermediate read. It felt as though it was written by a talented 8th grader.
It left me a little disappointed, wanting more. Overall, a decent story.
