Couldn't finish it. I made the mistake of watching the movie years ago. I really enjoyed it and this just didn't stand up. I know its supposed to be the other way around but I felt the characters in the movie were just so much more. I found the Jordan of this book to be a whiner and I couldn't get into it.

A Christmas Wedding (Everlasting Love) (Harlequin Superromance, No 1529)
Review Date: 7/23/2022

Absolutely nothing to do with Christmas other then the fact that their is a wedding going on. I read Christmas books because I enjoy reading the traditions and fun that are normally built into the story line and this had none of that. While the story itself was OK it had a very misleading title and the two main characters had very little depth.

I like Debbie's book but I think I enjoyed this book more then any others. I like how it had the main characters but also had interactions with other people in the town. Almost finished with book # 2 as well and I can't wait to dive into # 3

Not as good as the first one seemed forced, rushed, and predictable. Will finish the series but hoping the final isn't the same.

While this was an interesting take on the vampire genre I'm concerned that none of you know what erotica is, for those that classified this as such, and if this is what you consider erotica you should never read anything on my read list. This book was VANILLA it didn't even come close to any bit of steam. It had the potential but it never quite rose to the occasion.

While the characters were interesting the ending fell flat. There was all this build up and then it just felt rushed. The author also glossed over Mystique's event, which almost made it seem like she had to put something in to finish this and meet a deadline. Just didn't like how things ended.

**spoiler alert** I have to say I enjoyed reading this and the ending couldn't have been done better. I can't wait to read the next book and while I understand all the people that are upset about what they call ruining VC's original work how do you know it didn't really happen this way. How do you know that these aren't really notes that the ghost writers are working from and whose to say that Cory didn't live and grow up to be the only one who got to have happiness. We know the grandmother was crazy enough to put fake bones into a trunk and that Corrine was just as messed up. I'm a very big fan of the series and I don't think these new additions hurt it in anyway they simply add some more twists and turns to an already fascinating and disturbing story of what sadly somewhere is someone's reality.

I have to say this book made my head hurt...but in a good way. This book was well written and very funny in a confusing way. I can't wait to read more by this author and I'd love for her to continue this and made it a series. I'd love to know what happens to all the character and also to learn more about the Duke...hmmmm what's his story.

Bitten by Lynsay Sands and The Awakening by Kate Huntington were the only two enjoyable parts of this book. I picked it up because I'm a fan of Sands but it was all I could do not to jump ahead to her story and leave the rest.

The stories by Howell and Blayne were bland at best with no plots and terrible writing.

It was slow to start and had some interesting parts but overall the piece was uneventful. The ending was rushed and truly made little to no since and an additional character was added towards the end that had no baring on the text and made no since. I tried to remember while readying that this was intended for the YA audience but even that did not help the writing style or underdeveloped areas. I struggled to finish it hoping that there would be something that could make it better....I was disappointed.

3/20/22: I decided to give this another go as my tastes have changed and while I can still concur with my previous review this time I was able to see past the misuse and understand that both Cathy and Jon were victims of the time and the inability to communication what one was feeling. In Cathys case her father thinking he was doing what was best for her and in Jons being hurt at such a young age and not having the role model to turn to in order to better understand what he was feeling.

6/9/15: I found parts of this disgusting. This book screams abuse and battered wife, but then I have to remember not only the era its from (1842) but the year it was written (1981). A lot has changed since then and sadly this used to be the allowed treatment of women
