Story is told from the 3 main characters point of view. Was hard to follow along at first, but was a good read.

Fairytale romance with a twist -- This was a GREAT book--very nicely done. The husband cares deeply for the wife & very slowly introduces her the the D/s live style.

J J Massa continues her Montgomery Family series with Managing A Family. This is another page turner! First, Yancey Montgomery sleeps with his young mate without recognizing that a) she is his mate and b) he's known her all her life. Philomena Crossland does not take kindly to being used like the girl of the moment, especially for her first time. Although Yancey marked and mated her, he didn't even know her name. Philly flees his presence and determines to hide herself from her new mate at all costs. This is nothing like the seduction and lovemaking she had always dreamed of with Yancey.
We also get a taste of the relationship with Ashley and Myles and how Myles in his thoughtless manliness can screw up. Myles and Ashley have known they were mates since Ashley was a child. Myles has waited for her to mature into womanhood, but now that she has, he seems to ignore it. You'll have to wait for their tale, but you'll be begging for it by the end of Managing a Family.
Philly will bring her mate to his knees before it is all said and done, but there is much heartache and danger involved before the fall.
J J Massa brings back all of your favorite characters including patriarch Mik in this angst filled story. There's plenty of butt kicking Montgomery Style and sexual tension as only Ms. Massa can write it. Her descriptive writing leaves you feeling every heartache and dodging every punch. Both these story lines were so strong that I actually expected them to conclude together, but this was only a teaser for Ashley and Myles. At least we know there are more Montgomerys to come!

Love can rescue a lonely heart. Kyle Morgan doesn't want to be rescued, especially not by former beauty queen Sabrina Daniels. Sabrina fires up Kyle's long dormant libido, and it's like a match struck on dry tinder-an explosion of heat whenever she's around. His cheating ex-wife left a bad taste in his mouth about the entire female gender and he doesn't want to get involved again, despite Sabrina's untapped sensuality. Sabrina Daniels, newly divorced from her controlling millionaire husband, is out to build her independence and begin a new life. She's always wanted to be a ranch owner but knows nothing about ranching. Her solution comes in the form of The Rocking M in Dreamwater, Oklahoma. The ranch needs an investor, and she has the money. But if she wants her dreams to come true, Sabrina will have to work alongside handsome-as-sin Kyle Morgan. Yes, he's surly and unpleasant, but underneath his tough exterior, she discovers a man who feels like a failure. Both have firm goals for their future, but love has a way of interfering in the best laid plans.

I would have liked a stronger male lead -- but could understand his personality. Will be looking for more of C Brooks books in the future!

Not enough character development. Shallow version of D/s live style. Didn't finish.

Ok -- so it took me awhile to get over the ending -- it did leave an opening for a sequel to tie-up everything nicely. Not the "happily ever after" kinda a book.
