Great for the beginner model railroading enthusiast. Black and white and color photos, easy to read diagrams, easy to follow instructions. It is comprehensive and covers track planning, benchwork, creative ideas on scenery, assembly, signals, couplers, electric, power packs, zero derailments, track, roadbed, ballast, making structures, etc. Railroading is a great hobby for the Father in your life who's had a set back (ours had a stroke). New hobby new thought processes develop.

John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and American Revolution fans will absolutely love this book. The pace is quick and you will learn more about these gentlemen, their lives, their agreements/disagreements, in this short book than all of the others out there. These men were geniuses and the quotations will make you stop and reread a 2nd and 3rd time. Handing this used book over to another US 1700s reader; went ahead and purchased a new copy of the book for my collection! Excellent!

It's free here, right? You have credits sitting idle -- remember the Twilight Zone? Still catching it here and there when Sci/Fi Channel runs it? Uh huh. Check this book out to keep you company until the next episode airs. If nothing else, read "Ballad of the Outer Life" about a paralyzed victim on a distance planet, and "My Mother and I Go Shopping", traditional Twilight Zone material. "The Knight of Greenwich Village" reminds you of Thurber's Mitty, but it's "Marticore" that evokes the REALLY scary and eerie Twilight Zone feelings. This book is worth taking out for that one story alone. It would have made Rod Serling very proud. It's about a Daddy trying to rescue his daughter from a cult ...... won't say no more. Twilight Zone Fan!? This one rocks!

Manly Wade Wellman says it all, I reckon. Him and John, his silver strung guitar and air one us folk believe in em. This'n be one of them thar hard books to find in these here parts. The dusty cover's been torn, but air knows its to keep the weather out. Think ye know whos can save the day!? Think air again! The Silver John series is the BEST American anthology you can get yer paws upon -- like I was saying gentleman, its indeed as rare and precious as the songs John likes to hark. Thar's reason his books fetch upwards of fifty dollars.

Scholastic cover different, first edition October 2004, great story for 8-15 years of age. If your kids read Harry Potter, this will be right along the same line. What if you woke up one morning to discover you are a genie?

My sister said this book was a big help for understanding things that make asthma good/bad. She highly recommends it to someone who has been recently diagnosed with this chronic condition. It's pretty thorough from concerns to treatments to evaluating whether it's time to visit the ER.

This book helps you to use your mind and little breathing exercises to help make your day with asthma a little more bearable. This is good to take with you for waiting at the doctor, at the airport or the jury duty room.

Dun fans will like it. However, to a new fan, like me, the story seems to drag on, and leaves a lot of loose ends. That the mountain serial killer gets away with many deaths makes no sense; we do not see the police getting involved enough with what they have found nor investigating. Cliche' in the bad guy hires loser henchmen. One minute they are strong; the next they are pathetic. If you are an intelligent lawyer, living in a very small town, and see the same van at various crime scenes, would you be suspicious? No killers have been caught, however, they move about as if nothing happened. If you read the reviews at amazon dot com, most people gave it five stars; however, I must give it only two stars. Clive Cusseler describes this book as "escapist fiction of the first order" -- I agree -- escapist is the correct word. I have just picked up Dun's "Black Silent" and it's tons better. Will post it here after it's read.

Bought this new from amazon eight years ago and it went all the way to china with us and we just found it in a box. This book is used very good condition and is a great source for your upcoming trip to china or your pending book report. Review it before you go and if you don't want this book and are traveling elsewhere overseas, find the lonely planet book for the country you are visiting and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended series of books.

Well, it started out on a grand 007 high adventure, but then bogged down in the middle. Makes you want to ask Dun why why why so much scenario --- if they make a movie about this book it will take 24 hours to show it! Otherwise, for my second Dun book, much better than the first, and um, I think the octopus' grand finale at the end should have been played up -- maybe with Frick getting tossed around by Glaucus...???

This is fast paced, with a lot of dry wit and action. Recommended for new comers to Viehl's writing. The book is in the same universe as Bio Rescue and Star Doc (my favorite), so it's easy to cross over the various aliens & characters. If you are into fancy knives and ninja things, this is what blade dancers are: ninjas with blades. Sci-Fi/Fantasy fans only need apply.

Typical Corcoran, your either into Alex or not in this reading only copy that's been around for a while to make it fair. Pay attention to each of the characters he introduces as they are all part of a soap opera tangled web that would make Hollywood blush.
