Liked it - good light read, but I'm short on space so out it goes. Not as good as the Alex Benedict series books or his other series (the space agency one)

Pretty sure I've read it as a short story, too.

Dreadful.
Simply dreadful.
So dreadful I had to read it twice because I didn't think a book could be that bad.
And you know what? The author agrees.

Not badly written, just very depressing - got about 1/3rd of the way through.

Good characterization, very nice surprise ending, but poor pacing; takes over 300 pages to really get going, and some of the surprise comes from information the reader (but to be fair, also the narrating character) does not know. Overall, I don't regret having read the book, but I don't plan to read it again.
