It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book. It is by an English author and set in London so some of the writing (ie English style) was difficult at first. However, after those few first chapters, I was hooked! What a great read! So much fun and the author really captured what life of a young, single working girl is like. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this book. I had never read any books by JA Jance before and someone told me she was a good writer soI gave it a try - well worth it. This book had believable characters and really was engrossing. I could not put it down - needed to see "who done it." I would recommend it. Easy reading and makes you want to see what is in store next for the main character, Joanna Brady. I just ordered the 2nd book in this series.

I think this is the only book in 15 years that I could not finish. I read the 1st 3 chapters. I am sorry to say that I found the characters totally unbelievable and I found the writing to be unengaging. I never do not finish a book. I saw some reviews about this book and thought it looked interesting - my type of novel - but it was not. The main character had no depth. I love to read - too many books and too little time. Therefore, I didn't want to waste my time on this one.

I have always enjoyed the China Bayles mysteries and this one was no exception. Absolutely loved it! Albert nicely weaved in the past and the present so much so that I am looking for some of the books on the Galveston hurricane. Easy read. Highly recommend.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! This book was one that I could not put down right from teh first chapter. It has everything - mystery, several plot lines that make you want to know what happens and a littel bit of romance (thought not much) thrown in for good measure. Such a great read. Wraps up nicely at the end. I would recommend this to anyone - male or female. You won't be disappointed.
