The Mercifully Brief, Real World Guide to Raising Thousands (If Not Tens of Thousands) of Dollars With Email

I love this book. Concise, forthright, to the point. Very useful if, like me, you find there are not enough hours in the day to do everything you hoped to do for your nonprofit organization. I don't need theory; I need practical information. I'm convinced Madeline wrote this book just for me.

Our Stolen Future: Are We Threatening Our Own Fertility, Intelligence, and Survival?-A Scientific Detective Story

Theo Colborn, who recently passed away, is in many ways Rachel Carson's intellectual heir -- and every bit as prophetic about the future perils to human health, wildlife, and the environment from use and overuse of synthetic chemicals untested for safety. It is written in plain English so you don't need to be a scientist to understand or enjoy the read. I highly recommend it.

Stunning. Beautifully written. Theo Colburn, who recently passed away, is a worthy successor to Rachel Carson -- and this book is the sequel to "Silent Spring."

"Silent Spring" is perhaps even more relevant today than when it was first published more than fifty years ago. Ms. Carson tells the story of DDT's effects on birds, but in the years since then the chemicals industry has doubled or tripled the number of nasty pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides being produced (some of which were supposed to be "safe" substitutes for DDT).

Ms. Carson was a prophet. She was also a fine writer. She tells a horrifying story, but she tells it beautifully.

Best book about time travel I've ever read. Inventive, totally believable, thought-provoking, engaging. Not your ordinary sci fi novel.
