We have created enough forums to allow a place for anything our members might like to discuss. We ask that before posting in Discussion Forums, members give thought to the appropriateness of their topic for the forum they are choosing.  Enrollment in Annual Membership is necessary to be able to Post in Discussion Forums .

About the Specific Forums:

Please also note that any images Posted to the Discussion Forums should be either your own property or in the public domain.  Copyrighted images will be subject to removal, and a repeat incident after a first warning may lead to account termination.

Club Members' Thoughts  This is a "free discussion" Forum, for all topics book-related or not.   Posts advertising your Bookshelf should NOT go in this forum - they belong in the Book Bazaar.  

Games.   PBS members love to play games!  This forum has a variety of Swap games (BookRings, BookSwaps, etc.) that involve the exchange of goods (books or nonbook items).  There are also some online games (word games or trivia games) with no exchange of goods. The Games Forum is moderated by the Games Moderators.  Each game is hosted (designed and managed) by an individual member, who gets permission to start the game  from the Mods.  Games can be Moderated (the Games Moderators oversee these to ensure that the game is played fairly with no one the "loser") or Unmoderated (no Games Mod involvement - players play at their own risk).  Games that do not involve the exchange of goods (ie word games without prizes) do not require moderation or permission from the Mods.  Please note: Games of chance (raffles, lotteries) are not permitted for legal reasons.

PBS Local Chapters Forum.  This is the forum for local groups to arrange meetups and events. All that is required to start a Chapter is a PBS Nickname, a publicly-viewable profile, and the motivation to organize meetups in your area.  If you are interested in starting a local Chapter, first check the list of Official Chapters in the Forum to be sure that there isn't already a Chapter in your area, and then send in feedback to us specifying the region for the new Chapter.

Questions About PBS.  This is the place to consult your fellow members if you have questions about the club. 

Hidden Gems.  This is the forum for members to discuss their favorite books and authors - stop by here to find out about some great reads that you have missed!  

Current Affairs and Politics.  This is the forum for members to discuss current events. Things can get heated in here - but courtesy is still expected!  Note: political topics are not permitted to be posted in any other Discussion Forums.  We are the sole arbiters of what constitutes a "political" topic. Also note: posting links or text from misinformation/hatespeech sites is prohibited.  .

USPS Postal Regulations.  The place to ask questions about the US mail, which is such an important aspect of swapping books at PBS.

Book Bazaar.  This is the place to make "deals" with other members - to offer freebie incentives to order from your Bookshelf - to offer "unpostable" items that cannot be posted for swapping, etc. We do not officially support unofficial deals (=there is no credit compensation for unsatisfactory or unfulfilled swaps). The Book Bazaar does have some rules, which include the following:  Members cannot offer or ask MORE than "PBS Price" for a book, but they may offer more than 1 book for a credit;  Members cannot swap books-for-books in the Bazaar (this is limited to subscribers to Box-O-Books); Members may start a maximum of two topics per day and may "bump" each topic a maximum of once per day. Money Saving Tips.  This is the place where members can share their tips for saving money. 

Going Green.  Reduce, reuse, recycle...here members can share methods for protecting the environment.  

Writers' Forum.  PaperBackSwap has a lot of writers in its membership.  This forum is for you - published or unpublished - to meet, chat, and support each another.

Homeschoolers' Corner.  Homeschooling parents can exchange information and ideas here.

Teachers' Corner.   This is the place for teachers to exchange information and ideas.

Caregivers' Forum.   For those involved in the caretaking of loved ones...this is a place to find and give support.

Health and Fitness.   This forum is dedicated to all things health & fitness related, such as diet, exercise and anti-aging.

Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK).   Members do good deeds here!  Please note that asking for credit gifts is not allowed here or anywhere else on PBS. 

Share and Care.  The place for members to encourage one another - to ask for good wishers/prayers for loved ones, etc.

Contests & Giveaways.   This is the place on PBS for posting links outside PBS - to blog giveaways, contests, "vist my website" or "vote for me".  Such posts will not be allowed anywhere else on PBS.  Please note that the linked sites must not require $ and that posts solely advertising/promoting a business violate the Terms of Use.

eBook Readers.  The place where those who read digitally can meet and mingle.
